Hello,

I'm a smoker that is trying to quit smoking.

I recently ordered a Eleaf Istick 100w and have also ordered an Orchid V3 tank atomizer.

I own a couple of 18650 batteries but they do not have the flat positive terminal, they have the traditional curved one that you usually find on all types of batteries. Will they fit in the Eleaf Istick 100w

Thanks!!!

Welcome to VU.
Don't have that mod to confirm, but "button top" is the term you're looking for.

Most mods will use flat top cells to try keep the height down. You can try, if it fits, great. If the button top does not fit, get flat tops.

If your button top cells are low discharge cells, you should replace them even if they do fit. You need some samsung 25r's or LG he2/4 cells to name a couple. They are only $5 per so better to have a safe battery than save a couple bucks and run low grade cells.

God no, spend $10

Trying short cuts like that puts you in the news as the guy that had his mod explode and was in the hospital doing interviews saying you have no idea what went wrong... it just exploded
Well my mod is going to be here in a couple of days, and ordering new batteries would take a while cause US shipping to Israel takes around 2-3 weeks for an item to arrive. the batteries that i currently have are GTL 5300 Mah batteries. So is there a chance for me to use those batteries with the button top until new batteries arrive? i really want to quit smoking...

Ok which batteries would be great for the Istick 100 mod then? since you all have already written out my future with my current batteries. :D?

Yeah, theres no physical way to stuff 5000mah+ in a 18650 cell so I wouldn't trust that manufacturer at all.

I'm sure you can find quality cells in Europe or maybe even closer to you, they are sold all over the world, not just the US

Look for Samsung 25r ,LG HE2/HE4/HG2 or Sony VTC4 VTC5 as the best bets and stay away from re-wraps. You want at least a 20 amp battery and if anyone says there battery is more than 30 amps it's a lie.

No, 20a cells are advised.

The link above will ship outside the US, just contact them. I would search for a place closer to you though, all cells that have been suggested in this thread are very common and sold world wide.

if they Don't fit I can always cut off the button top right

Since you brought that up, it might be wise to mention that you should also never cut the wrap off a battery.

Actually, make sure that your batteries and sharp objects are never in the same room together.

Moving this over to the batteries sub...

As mentioned already numerous times, look for 20A cells like the LG HE2, HE4, HGsomethingorother, or Samsung 25r - Gearbest will get you some cheap 25r5 cells (like $16US for 4), but I've got no clue how long they take to get to Israel (about a month to get to the US). With 5A cells in parallel like the i100 uses them, you probably don't want to go over 20 watts or so.

Also, from experience button-tops probably won't fit that mod, and attempting to modify them into homemade flattops is definitely playing with fire...literally.

Spoiler.....they're not 5300mAh. And that's tested at 0.5A! Just imagine at 100W....man..
