As trollish as this statement is, I share that sentiment. I think people who are deeply integrated into social circles on the internet tend to overestimate the importance of the happenings on the internet that pertain to real-world things. It's not as relevant as people seem to think it is. If it was, then people would either know about it, or at least be able to acknowledges the resultant changes that they see in the world and maybe even how they live their lives.

I'm reminded of the whole SJW craze and the mobs of internet activists who think that what they're saying and doing about very big, real-world problems via the internet is affecting things in a big and meaningful way.

All that the internet does is bring people with similar viewpoints together. It's merely the shadow of the things happening around us.

And that's the thing. 9 out of 10 people on the street, if asked about these huge internet movements, wouldn't know a thing about them and probably wouldn't see anything of the changes they claim to be bringing.

The people working against us on the internet will look to the internet for things to use against us... ...on the internet. This only affects people who actually follow these things on the internet, i.e., the ones who have already made up their mind and become invested.

The ones in the real world wouldn't write and article or do a report on rip trippers, as most people wouldn't recognize him. They'll instead write a story about a mech mod exploding, a new study or survey done, new legislation being pushed... ...things that the unindicted public can immediately grok and see as legitimate. They couldn't give one, let alone two fucks about youtube drama because they know that the only people who do are the ones who already follow it online. The public reaction to it would be minimal.

Legislators are looking at studies and monetary figures, not youtube videos or even public opinion.

That's what I think. I'm trying to keep it all in perspective, here.
Exactly right!

They would be better off interviewing local families and experts. no they wouldn't, you are correct.
But, i have prepped several cases for court and the first thing i do is GOOGLE. I'm pretty sure that should they ever want to, they could easily figure out who vapers listen to. Or who the culutural people are that tend to have some sort of influence. we even have a magazine. we aren't cloistered anymore, that's the price of getting popular in mainstream

Trippers is NOT an expert. He is not a scientist, a developer, or anything "expert". He is a dumb ass reviewer that is an internet character.

Nothing he says can be used in court as expert testimony. No studies are done by him about vaping. He only matter to people on forums and youtube'ers.

you didn't read the previous posts i didn't say he would be an expert witness
Not really.
think about it, his voice appears to people outside of our circles as one that carries weight.
The argument would be::: even their own spokesperson with 3/4 of a million followers say that vaping has side effects, listen to his own words.
Its far from scientific, but it just needs to sway opinion when its time for lawmakers to vote.

And my point is, Trippers word holds no weight. He may be a popular vaping "celebrity" but his opinions can be easily dismissed by actual science and studies that have been done. Those hold more weight than anything Trippers will have to say.

So what if one side presents Trippers opinion? You don't think the other side won't have more ammo, and more credible ammo? All they would have to do is show how MANY vaping videos Trippers has done, to dispel his claims how vaping has "harmed" him.

Well than im wrong. Someone taking clips of that video and showing his numbers won't have any influence or be able to use it against us.
I still say it's a bad idea. Just my opinion though.

Rip tells the truth and gets dumped on. Some wonder why vaping is fringe...
I have never had a problem with you and I still don't.

Steve, I have a question for you.
Sorry if you have answered this before I have not come across the answer and so I ask.
I really am interested in knowing about your experience with vaping, what got you started with vaping?

There are many issues related to vaping, this is not news. I suffer from them myself almost every day. Main issues include:
  • Batteries running out
  • Put down your mod in a stupid place
  • Can't find the juice you really want
  • Vape mail didn't turn up yet
I know that these are definitely all caused by vaping and vaping alone. No other factors are contributing to these issues, it's all just down to vaping. There is definitely a cause and effect relationship between my batteries running out and me vaping.

So I am gonna get some Ultima, it cures vaping issues apparently.

Sorry. Ultima also has side effects.

- Frequent urination
- Waiting on the package (related to vape mail)
- Loss of hard earned income
- Bad breath
- Naively following shills

Be cautious of your purchase, grasshopper.

Even if the FDA/ANTZ pounced on that idiotic video, kinda irks me that as long as pharmaceutical companies list the GAZILLION possible side effects of drugs, it's ok.

This drug may cause: dry mouth, cramping, liver disease, heart disease, blindness, cancer, hair loss, infertility, your right arm to fall off, your nose to cave in, hallucinations while barking at the moon, wanting to run naked in the Antartic, overeating of Fig Newtons, compulsion to stick your hand in a blender, driving your car through a brick wall and of course, possibly death. But hey, your issue of flatulence may get better!

But God forbid, that vaping stuff is BAD (oh and we, the Government, aren't gaining tax dollars) so we need to control that and shut it down. Some jack leg admitted he has cramps and dry knuckles!! This stuff is horrible and we need to help the public. SMH

Yes this is true.
However we are his audience and if we that disagree with him unsubscribe and stop watching him, we have made our displeasure known.
As you said his audience is almost entirely the vape forum crowd.

I agree, and I did indeed unsubscribed from his channel...

If you listen to the replay of Mod Envy many of us had different opinions on the situation - and you get to see Tyger in her sexy PJ's. :D @TygerTyger

Replay Link: http://Vaporjoes.link/ECdyCA

And for the ladies, @VaporJoes did the show in his cozy robe..... I was a little distracted during last night's show; "huh? what? giveaway? ummmmm....." :D

RT stuff was pretty early in. After vape mail and maybe 1 or 2 giveaways. But if you're looking for Tyger in her pj's, you can see her for almost 3 full hours ;)

Hahaha, yeah that was cool too. Can't help but be shocked to agree with nitro for a change...right up until his client sales pitch

@ the Lynchmob... start at the 1:02 mark... (1 hour and 2 minutes)
Props to Joe for having the clarity to say it how it is.
All vapers should hear this... especially you @ej1024, @BigNasty, and all the rest with the pitchforks and the torches...

Shark as I said I could not give two flips how rip tarded makes his money, his followers or his fucking fanbois and bots. I am pissed that he alluded to his self abuse with his lack of activity to being a vaping side effect.
His tying his endocrine and hormonal issues to vaping, so instead of taking the correct step of going to his doctor first he started self medicating with supplements.

And this is from his video so according to him he had a mineral imbalance which he further throws way the fuck out of whack by over hydrating, then dehydrating himself further and further supplementation product.

So by the vid he finally goes to the DR. who gets a correct diagnosis. One that requires lifetime of treatment and adjustments. So instead of correcting his levels he pitches snake oil powder which does have a zero sum effect to thyroid issues and treatment.
He opened himself up to false health claims.

IF anyone who is having a thyroid issue follows this suggestion of his self treatment is putting themselves at serious risk damage or death.
