Tools: * Phillips screwdriver * Ohm meter * pre-build dia. .4mm coil * Allen key for adjusting the coil position * Japanese organic cotton

install the coil

make sure the coil is on top of the airhole

Tear off the outer layer of the organic cotton

cut the sheet (.7 inch is ok)

Loosely roll the sheet

Feed the cotton wick to the coil

install the chimney

Why would you build his across he posts not perpendicular?

Because it's designed to. The air flow is then directly aligned with the coil. It's hard to see in the last pic but there are slots in the chimney base that the wick feeds through before the chimney cap is screwed down. To do it any other way would introduce kinks in the wick as well.

I have to disagree. It's made for he coil to sit perpendicular, between the posts. You're not linking the coil any more in either direction so whatever works. But for a larger coil this is going to potentially hit the top.

In every build tutorial I've seen including those form smokerstore the coils is perpendicular not on top of the screws. But like I said if it works for you. Go with it. It just limits the builds imo

Actually building at a 45 degree angle allows for a longer coil and it actually creates a more voluminous vape. Additionally by the time you install the airflow reducer very little of s y coil
Is going to be over the air hike directly. Should you choose to use the airflow reduce (I feel it creates much more dense and flavorful vape with a 2mm hole not 3.

Anyway a I was hair curious about your reasoning as everyone else has done it the other way.

To tell the truth I didn't catch the orientation when I first looked at it. Just didn't register. When I saw perpendicular I envisioned offset from the posts, perhaps a question from someone more used to RDA's. You are right, I always do it the way you describe. Although I don't suspect it would make a large difference as long as it's centered. I usually limit coils to 2.5mm to avoid choking the wick in the slots. I tend to prefer a little more airflow myself, so I take the reducer out and toss it in the drawer.

Building the coil 45 degrees off from the posts allows more flexibility to place the coil whatever distance from the airhole you prefer. Placing the coil closer to the airhole gives a smoother, less harsh vape.

Wicking is then straight through. I will usually allow my wick to droop down to the deck before coming back up and coming out the slots; similar to a dripper. Makes for a nice juice reservoir to eliminate any possibility of dry hits. Just keep the wick from contacting the air tube or it may leak.
