Alien 220W will not start

I've had it for about 3 months and it just stopped working, will not start. Did all the normal things, changed the batteries, made sure they were in right, replaced the coil, etc. Anyone here have any ideas?

Think I read three different posts today, all saying the same thing, although some reported smelling burning plastic before death.

I've seen exacly same thing. With no burning plastic. All I can advise is taking it back to the shop you bought it from. They should give you a new one or repair it.
