Anyone know the generally safe amp limit on egos? Is it different for different sizes? 650mah 1000mah etc.?

Never had anyone ask this before. I'm curious as to why you would need to know this?

I happened to pull my old ego's out of the vape box the other day and slapped a protank 2 with a 1.7 ohm head on it and it was still a pretty good vape! Thought about building some heads around 1.4/1.5 ohm for it.

Right now at 1.7 ohms its pulling less than 2.5 amps. At 1.5 ohms and 4.2 volts (full charge on an ego) it would be pulling 2.8 amps.

I was thinking around 3 amps should be there limit.

I usually kept to around 2.5amp max to be on the safe side

Does your ego actually output 4.2v or is it a regulated 3.6 or 3.7v? Some do, some don't. Makes a difference on the amp draw.

Ahh, very true Lefty. I never have checked it, but from performance when fully charged versus almost dead, I'm pretty sure they aren't regulated.

Is it a twist type ego? Generally 3 amps is the absolute max for ego batteries.

They are not twist batteries. I always wanted a twist ego though. May still have to pick one up some day.

that reminds me ,the original ego were reg'd @ 3.4 volts . some company [i forget] came out with ones that reg'd @ 3.7 volts
Nowadays they're all over the place depending on what factory pumped it out. Only way to tell is to check.

Never seen any specifications about Amp limit on the egos. Just seen mentioning about the constant voltage output along with variable voltage output.

If you use any of the Innokin iTaste VV4 stick batteries, they have a 4.0 amp output limit.

These batteries are both VV or VW adjustable. Come in either the 750 or 1000 mAh sizes.

Watt output range is: 6-15 Watts

Great little EGO style VV / VW battery with a nice display. Although I normally use a rebuildable tank atty. and a box mod, I use this EGO battery with a Kanger Aerotank Mini when I go out of the house for a short period of time (fits nicely into a shirt pocket) and is nicely made.

Well, if all your looking for is a narrow EGO style battery, I would say that the Innokin VV4 works better than any other choice out there.

I used the word 'Great' as it would only pertain to an EGO style stick battery.

An iTaste VV4 and a matching diameter Kanger Aerotank Mini is certainly not my all day long vape, but fits the bill when you want something narrow and light weight when you go out of the house for a short stay somewhere ... nice front pocket setup for the 'short term'.

Just my opinion ... and all the OP was asking is what is the amp limit on these small EGO style batteries ... Again, 4.0 amps on the Innokin iTaste VV4.
