Initial Impressions and features
When I first got this Mod, I was pretty impressed with the looks of it. It’s a symmetrical mod with a front facing large color screen and a fire bar. Pretty much the type of mods i like the best. There is a small LED on the front as well for some flair and even though many don’t like LEDs i like them and it blends in well enough you wouldn’t notice it if you turn it off. The paint job is excellent as well. While the body is mostly black the color options have colored in fire bar and matching panel to the side and the coloring is nice and vibrant and has a shiny clear coat looking finish. The rounded edges give it nice comfort and it’s a good size not the smallest but not the biggest dual 18650 mod out there. It’s also a simple power mode only mod much like the squid DB and the augvape V200. The included tank is the Wotofo flow pro, which is just another samey samey DTL sub ohm tank. Pretty much the Wotofo version of the big baby beast which is what i expected. Overall though seemed like a good mod and a decent tank to start.
Performance
The Flux mod doesn't not have any temp control modes or anything. It’s a power mode only mod with 3 preheat options of standard, powerful, and powerful plus. In other words it has normal preheat, hard preheat, and max preheat as most mods label them. Sadly the performance of this mod was too poor to gather max specs or accuracy. It consistently hunts power like the voopoo “love mode” does and doesn't provide a smooth power output regardless of the setting. On top of that when i tried to max it out using a .12 ohm build at 200 watts the mod refused to fire and instead gave me an overload protection. Dropping it down to 150 would fire but get really hot. Even trying it at lower watts and higher resistance while it fired fine it still hunted power the whole time. Really poor performer. In normal use “feel wise” It just feels inconsistent. I was constantly adjusting power to try and get a vape like i just got. Sometimes it felt hitting too high while others low. I thought at first it may just be the coil being not so good, but after trying the tank on other mods and other tanks on this mod, and then my testing i found it to be a mod issue and not an issue with the coils or the tank. Overall not much i can say good about this mod as it fails at the 1 thing it is made to do.
Other Usage Notes
The mod uses a standard 5 click to turn on and off. There isn’t a dedicated menu. Pressing up and fire cycles through the preheats. Down and Fire will enter the settings for the LED so you can program that. Pressing up and down locks the mod. That’s all there is to this mod. It’s a very simple easy to use mod.
The Wotofo Flux adjusts by 1 watt increments which I love, I wish all mods did this. It does not round robin wattage which isn’t a big deal but kinda annoying during my testing. The mod itself is built solid but has a lot of button rattle with the up and down buttons, none on the fire bar though. It has a good weight. Feels solid but not heavy. The Battery door is a standard bottom latch style door which fits nice and gave me no issues and doesn't have any gaps when shut.
The paint looks nice and doesn't scratch off, and i have no visible wear on mine and it won’t just scratch off. The fire button is nice large fire bar on the side so you just squeeze the mod to fire. The 510 pin gave me no issues and every atomizer i used on it worked great with no gaps. The mod handles 28mm atomizer flush. Anything bigger will overhang as you can see in the pics with a glaz RTA on it which is 30mm and it overhangs slightly. The screen is a large size 1.3 inch OLED color screen that is nice and bright and easy to see however with the dark tinted plastic over it in the sunlight it’s very hard to see but fine in normal lighting indoors. Also for branding the mod itself is pretty nice overall and not heavily branded. There is a rig mod logo on the back of the mod and nothing else outside of the bottom so good branding. They list 1.5 amp charging as well but i don’t recommend charging internally in your mods and I don’t test charge rates.
