I use a xtank 4.0 daily. It works great holds a lot of juice and the coils are dirt cheap ($1.25 for 5 last time I purchased)
These coils have a small ring of screen over the cotton, but a hole straight from the drip trip to the coil in the middle.
I work outside (on dusty gravel roads). I change these coils every 2-3 days and am amazed by the shit built up on the ring of screen. It however makes me wonder how much gets all of the way inside that I am heating up and inhaling. Pieces of grass, dirt, dust, conductive grease we use in crimps for powerlines that dust balls up in, you name it.
All of that said I think one more protective layer in my drip tip would give me some piece of mind.
