Anyone have a recipe for Backwoods Brew - Malty Toffee? Or something similar? I'm kinda into this one right now and would love to try and make some myself. Thanks

By: Lyndagayle on ECF

Start with PG/VG/Nic base of your choice.

  • 10% DIY Flavor Shack VG English Toffee
  • 2.5% Lorann's English Toffee
  • 1% DIY Flavor Shack Holy Vanilla
  • 1 drop ACV per 5ml

but.. searching around I found

10% Em
2% Caramel Candy
2% Malted Milk

hope this is it.. all tpa :)

I ordered a few different flavors, but haven't tried them all yet. The Malty Toffee is pretty badass though. I guess they are doing ok, because they have a limit on how much of this stuff you can order. Shipping was super fast too. I'm a fan now.

Banana Nut Bread please.

I keep trying the flavor from different DIY vendors and am still hunting for the elusive ADV. TFA at 15% + 1.5% AP and 1% FA Nut Mix is the best so far.

Sorry for posting here. Tried to delete but haven't found out how to do that yet.

is alright, @Yooperdad

Try:

2% Ripe Banana tpa
6% Banana Cream tpa
6% Van Cupcake tpa
1% Graham Cracker tpa
1% AP

sweetener if you think you want it, but not needed..
could add a drop of apple/lemon to make it pop.. good luck..

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to substitute for the TFA Ripe Banana. Have tried that in a few recipes and it turns me off. I like the rest of your recipe though and will make some up. Thanks again.

try playing with the percentages on it, too much can really turn people away.

I hear you for most flavors. But for me that Ripe Banana flavor is sick :) So I replace it with regular, sweet, etc., and any brand but TFA Ripe.

Sooo.... I finally got around to mixing this one up.

While not an exact clone, it is very similar and easily an ADV for me.

Thanks again, sorry it took so long to report back. :)

My apologies for posting this one year too late.
I have to point out that the recipe posted above is missing a critical ingredient; 30% EM 10% (TPA) or a super saturated EM solution.

Here is ECF's Lyndagayle's complete recipe:

8% Toffee VG (DIYFS)
2.5% English Toffee PG (DIYFS) or (LA)
2.5 French Vanilla (DIYFS)
1% Holy Vanilla (DIYFS)
1% Butter Cream (DIYFS)
30% EM 10% (TPA) or (supersaturated EM solution)
55% Your combination of VG and VG nic base

I mixed this tonight since my DIYFS order arrived this week and omitted the French Vanilla, upped the VG Toffee to 10% and used a little less super saturated EM (about 20%) with more VG and a little DW as a thinner.
I can't wait for it to steep as its supposed to grow into it's own after three days, perhaps I'll cheat and try some tomorrow!
