COUNCIL MEETING JULY 8TH, 2014 : 7PM
Those familiar with the dangerous and crazy idea of Representative Jackie Speier (i.e. extending FDA regulations with prohibition of flavors and advertisements claimed to be targeting minors) should take notice. The city of Berkeley is looking to adopt a resolution to support Speier’s SMOKE Act.
The city of Berkeley is also looking to establish a City Policy to regulate the sale of e-cigs within the city by applying existing tobacco cigarette regulations to vapor products! For this they are looking to amend the Berkeley Municipal Codes on Smoking Control.
And in addition to those two issues the city is also looking to prohibit the use of vapor products in all places where smoking is currently prohibited. But with the exception of enclosed residential units in multi-unit housing.
Please contact the following people to let them know you do not support these proposals. Please be respectful. If you are aware of the SMOKE Act you may understand the importance of objecting to what the City of Berkeley would be supporting with their resolution.
