The California Department of Public Health report says e-cigarettes emit cancer-causing chemicals and get users hooked on nicotine but acknowledges that more research needs to be done to determine the immediate and long-term health effects.

WHAT "cancer-causing chemicals"? and admittedly backed by no research.

The state that has drive up liquor stores.
The state that tried to ban bacon and pork products in the 1970's.
The state that has elected actors into Governorships.
The state that wants to go solar, yet has more cars per capita that any other state in the union.
The state that now wants to ban non organic meats and foods and then tax the organic products.
The state that considers weed more dangerous than Crips, bloods,18th Street, Mara Salvatrucha, MS13, Diesiocho, and Eighteen Street gangs.

As long as they get their sugar from Big Tobacco, they will fuck any citizen over who thinks differently. Cosa Nostra at a government level.

More Californians will get injured or die this year from surfing than from e-cigs. Better ban surfing.

The sun is also very bright in California. I saw a headline once that said if you stand in the sun too long it causes cancer! Better ban that ASAP!

And fornication as well.

They still allow that? Don't Californians realize that's how diseases are spread? Plus, if kids see adults doing it they might think it's "cool" and want to try it. Damn they need to get on that too.

New generations of young people will become nicotine addicts if the products remain largely unregulated, California Health Officer Ron Chapman said. Last year, 17 percent of high school seniors reported using e-cigarettes, known as vaping, according to the report

I always love it when politicians make blanket statements like this. I never had any trouble getting cigarettes when I was in high school (and I was homeschooled in a small town) and cigarettes have been "regulated" for decades. Yeah, kids are gonna get their hands on shit they shouldn't have. It sucks, but that's life. If it's a choice between a kid having a tobacco cigarette that they're going to get addicted to and which WILL cause serious health problems vs. vaping on an e-cig which is at the very least LESS of a risk and IMO not nearly as addictive, why does it need tighter regulation? Bans and regulations are proven failures everywhere else they have been tried (drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, guns), instead why not take that money that would be spent enforcing bullshit regulations and put it towards research and education?

I hear all the stupid crap coming out of Cali from environmentalists and peta & whatever other stupid propaganda their state government supports every time I go to family functions, lol. They've been tetched in the head for yrs in sunny Cali. One more thing to add to the list of their stupidity. My grandparents still live there, and they can't understand any of the nonsense anymore than those of us in the sane parts of America can.

No that would mean money out of their pockets, they are intent on criminalizing it and taxing it while lining their pockets.

Why is nicotine regulated and caffeine isn't? How is the State going to end up classifying ecigs being a tobacco product.

If I didn't spend the last 6 years getting my business specific to LA up and going we would be long gone.

The California report says e-cigarettes emit as many as 10 toxic chemicals, (but "advocates" say there is no evidence those substances are released at dangerous levels.) What are these chemicals I would like to know... And of course people that vape and have financial interest in vaping are going to back it... But I would like to know the health risks. We honestly dont know what the long term effects will be for another 20-30 so years... Right
