I just got back into gaming a little. My son has an Xbox and I just bought one to play online with him. I noticed that now even tho you have a physical copy of game, it still has to be downloaded onto the system which is dumb. I'm used to just pop it in and play. Now can I buy one disc and download them to both xboxs or do I have to buy 2 copies of a game.

For a major game, I doubt it.
Requiring the physical disc in place is one form of copy protection.

Your idea counts as "software piracy". :D

But I haven't had a console in a couple decades so I'm just guessin'.

No but there's a work around, if you purchase the digital version you can add your son to your Xbox live family account and he can download as well
