This ones getting bad reviews, but I'm experimenting with it and so far, what I'm getting from it is a purely white cake batter flavor (not eggy, not yellow, not chocolate, but the white cake batter that no one likes eating because it tastes kind of like sweet flour) that is very accurate apart from how CAP flavors don't have that sweet touch (no sugar).

However, the magical thing about this one so far is that it has a mouthfeel that's unreal. Instead of tasting gooey, it has a mouthfeel as though you're eating fluffy cake itself. It's as though the coil really bakes a cake!

Right now, I'm experimenting with 4 parts CAP Custard, 2 parts CAP Cake Batter, 2 parts CAP Sweet Strawberry, and 1 part CAP Whipped Cream to see if it makes an appropriate Strawberry Shortcake.

A rough test with some drops in a tank showed a little promise. I can tell that this is a flavor that easily overpowers others but I'm getting nothing waxy or plasticy with it... it's very authentic as a fluffy white cake batter flavor, but it simply needs a tinge of something sweet.

I'm with you, it's one of my favorites, but it does have a bad rep amongst others! A little cinnamon ceylon tastes really yummy with it.

I got my cream cheese icing to compliment TFA red velvet cake, which I also seem to be the only one who enjoys....lol!

Cake batter is really good but finding the right percentage is a little tough sometimes. If you ever get a real bottle of Mother's Milk you can smell the cake batter in there but they mixed it in well as it is not overwhelming, going to have to try and figure that one out as the real MM is real tasty in my Crown tank.

The mouth feel on Cap flavors I have tried so far is really good. I really like FA but it has more of a dry mouth feel and I am always reaching for water when I vape FA recipes.

I'm finding myself starting to mix up more CAP myself. Don't get me wrong, I love FA and continue to use them, but like you said some of their flavors will fade in a recipe while others will steep deeper, completely changing a great mix to "what happened here?" over time.

I almost didn't want to mention FA as it seems like I would be labeled a heretic and burned at the stake. I was also thinking that maybe because I am in California and a lot of juice vendors here use CAP that maybe that accounted for my preference due to familiarity.

There are a lot of FA flavors that I probably won't use anymore, Caramel, Joy, apple pie, chocolate, coffee espresso, cappuccino and maybe 1 or 2 more that I have found better alternatives for my tastes. Still love cookie and fuji but there tricky to use and get the right percentage. Butterscotch, watermelon and the creams are good but have to be mixed with other vendors flavors or they just dry me out if it is an all FA mix. I really don't understand why I get cotton mouth with FA mixes, I won't take a FA mix on the road for this very reason.

I wish I liked FA over the other vendors as it is actually more cost effective especially over CAP which gets pricey with 4 oz bottles in the 12 to $13 range. TFA is way more economical at usually half the Cap rate and luckily I have found some ADV worthy mixes using TFA.

I agree Squonk, I have a 6 FA flavor mix that was much better as a shake n vape then it is now after 16 days steeping. In that mix it is almost the opposite of what happens with other flavors makers, the flavors were more defined in the first 5 days but now they are more blended in and some flavors lost.

Yeah. Sometimes the back notes will move to the front and vice versa. Although I feel FA is great for 2-3 mix recipes.

Just the advice I was looking for Artemis.

I am onto V4 of a recipe I have been working on, I had cake batter at 5% and at first it was in the background like I wanted but after a 5 day steep it has muscled it's way into first place again. It's actually pretty good so I am going to make a 2nd V3 and let it steep for a couple of weeks but my V4 will have cake batter at 3% based on your recommendation.

Really hard to get the strawberry to pop in this recipe even at 10%, the cake batter just elbows it to the side like a bully. I might try mixing TFA Ripe SB into the mix with Cap Sweet SB, 5% each, and see if that makes it pop more. I did add about 0.25% dragonfruit to V3 but it didn't do the trick.

Hey, mjag, you might try .25% or .05% of a 10% Malic Acid solution. That stuff is pretty good at 'popping' non-citrus fruits.

    Best to ya!

    Thanks Sail Cat.

All I have is TFA Sour which is Malic Acid 20%, Propylene Glycol 80%, would that work at about 1 drop per 15ml?

FW Yellow Cake is good and I hear FW Cake Batter Dip is good as well but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Funny I just had a floating face up or down conversation with someone.
When asked why the reply just made to much sense.
    'Cause boobs dude!

Oh ya and cap cake batter is fucking magic for rounding off harsh edges without over sweetening mixes.

If you have any FA- strawberry i think you could use it to make a stronger natural strawberry flavor. I have had success with 3:2 sweet straw:FA-straw when trying to make a sweeter more pronounced strawberry. Not sure how it will blend with Cap-Cake batter but its a thought.

To me the Inawera Shisha Strawberry was horribly chemical with little strawberry flavor. I know my taste is a bit strange and others love this flavor though.

Wow, my thoughts on it are the opposite. Everyone is going to have different tastes, that's why they make so many different flavors. Too bad it didn't work out for you.

yep tastes do vary widely. ONe person I know of who loves the Shisha Strawberry mixes it at around 15% or so.
I started at 1% and worked up to 10 and nothing worked for me.
I cannot tolerate artificial sweetners and most commercial ejuice.
I also have a strong dose of the bitter gene.
Made getting into vaping quite difficult for me.
I do 100% DIY. And reject lots of flavorings that I try.

'Enjoyed your contributions at ECF @Robert Cromwell. 'Glad you found the real DIY crowd! Welcome aboard.

To stay on topic, I don't care for fruity flavors and cannot fathom a strawberry vape. I suppose, in that fashion, I favor none.

Yep tastes do vary. I enjoy fruit vapes but not as an all day vape. Well maybe the watermelon...

Not to derail this thread, but I'm real curious what you've replaced FA's Apple Pie, Joy & Caramel with?

Haven't used Apple pie in awhile but I like the TFA version. Caramel sort of goes between INW when I want it sharp and TFA Caramel, not the DX or original though.

For Joy I just replaced it with a Budweiser left open for 2 days....hits the spot...lol

Leaving that Bud open will release much of the simple aldehydes contained in that beer. The simple aldehydes (primarily acetaldehyde) release will greatly lower the green apple notes contained therein. (which may or may not be desirable in one's final mix).

I'm not sure who was responsible. Heck, it could have been waaaay back when Bud was made by an American Beer company:eek:

(Current Bud corporate headquarters.... ‎Leuven, Belgium)

Formaldehyde was used to kill bacteria that attacked the lubricant used in the manufacturing process of cans. The cans were rinsed, but a small amount always remained. (Other emulsions are used now)
