I have the efest blu6
And just notice I can charge from .500, 1amp, 2amp charging rates.
Whats the benefit or downside to each amp setting....as I have always just charged my 18650s @.5a

Batteries have a nominal (normal/acceptable) charging rate, most are around 1.5 amps. If you go above that you may decrease the batteries lifespan, sort of like how if you Discharge batteries too fast you will shorten their lifespan. There is a chart somewhere that shows nominal charge rates for different batteries...I know ilumn.com usually includes this number on their website.

Higher amp means faster charging, but going too fast could be bad

Also, looking at the charger's info

PLEASE NOTE: The Blu6 can only output a maximum total of 4A output to the slots. Meaning if Slots 1 and 6 are at 2A mode, the rest of the slots will not work. This also means not every slot can be charging at 1A mode if more than 4 batteries are charging at 1A each.
