Coil question

I have been making coils on rebuildable atomizers for almost 2 years now with no problems. For the past month I have been fooling around with single coil decks for the first time ever. First I got the zues, ohms dropping and raising. Then I got the pharoh rta to see if it was a fluke, still ohm dropping and raising. So my question is.. are single coil decks notorious for this or am I actually getting a short. I build ss and kanthal coils around .80 and are have been fluctuating between .76 and .88. I know what an atomizer short looks like and usually hops ohms much more widespread than this, that is why I am confused. Help.

@Enpsyclopedia as folks above mentioned:
  • Every coil will increase resistance as it heats
  • Kanthal confounds TC as it tries to maintain a flat 'curve'
  • Just click the fire enough to wake it - and then read the resistance.
  • Your readings will always be up to .5Ω different due to wrap-issues, hw issues, a touch of heat.
Parallel decks "average out" the differences in coiling and temp. but the issues still exist.

I even run into issues with some atty slowly rotating more and more loose - damnfino why, but it's true.
