Coil replacement

I have a herkales sub ohm tank and I want to know when to change the coils? Do I wait for a burnt taste? Or do I change it after a certain amount of time?

In short, the flavor changes/diminishes/tastes burnt it is time to change the coil. Its always good to have an extra coil or 5.
