Kylin is a dual coil. And due to the varying break-in time of different cottons, that's probably normal. Try a wicking material with less break-in time (better absorbency) like Cotton Bacon Prime maybe.
Depending on the cotton you use and your wicking technique The amount of cotton break in flavor will vary greatly.
I use Cotton Bacon V2 and virtually no break in taste.
Just washed hands. Skin oil tastes horrible and is responsible for lots of coil break in complaints.
Handle the part of the cotton that will remain in build none or as little as possible.
