Could you turn off the CloudFlare challenge page please?

Browsing VU through Tor ranges from extremely painful to almost impossible because of the CloudFlare captcha. At every Tor exit node IP rotation, or after the set challenge TTL, the captcha challenge page comes back.

Besides, that "feature" has nothing to do with security, and everything to do with CloudFlare collecting data on site users - or reading images for free for them through the captcha, if the user prefers not to be tracked...

I used to be an admin on a different site, the TOR nodes are usually purposefully blocked or setup with a captcha because their is a shit ton of spam and phishing/attack attempts though TOR.

I realize that. The problem is, CloudFlare - and Google, and all the other major companies whose business it is to track everything you do on the net - find it an extremely convenient excuse to try and kill whatever little expectation of anonymity online still exists. Site operators have the option to turn off the captcha though.

My VPN has a banned IP or two. If I ever log on from one the "your IP has been banned" is a shock every time.
Then I LOL because I realize it was some asshole that uses the same VPN service as I use who got banned, not me.

The only reason the VPN is on is because i'm usually multitasking. I moderate while downloading movies & shit. Non copyrighted movies and legal shit of course.:D

The funny thing about TOR is that if you look for it you will find it, child porn or snuff flicks alike. But if your just browsing the other many channels or just using the regular web there is almost no chance of you running into that sort of thing. And I am by no means a super experience TOR user

"J/k kinda" uh?

Well well, what d'ya know: Mr. Random Internet User here doesn't know me, but takes the liberty of insulting me by automatically assuming I use Tor to find kiddie porn.

Guess what, genius: it's exquisitely annoying to access half of the internet through Tor. So if all I wanted Tor for was to download dirty pictures, I surely wouldn't use it to access VU which doesn't have any, now, would I? Have you thought of that before posting shit and smearing people's good name?

The presence of pedophiles and drug dealers on the Tor network is a side effect of the relative anonymity it provides. You can't offer it to legit users without offering it to criminals too. If you want to use a tool to make it harder for amoral corporations and state agencies to track you, you have to share it with those who don't deserve it. That's the price to pay.

@Giraut I wasn't saying you were a looking at child porn or smut, I said it was used for that! & hackers a like. I was joking as well, I have used TOR, guess I hit a little close to home, eh? There also exist an add-on for google and virtually every other browser that will stop anyone from knowing your ip address, so why don't you step into the modern ages.

@Giraut HidyAss is just one of many, you whom appear to be a guru should know this. But, as I said earlier, it was not a dig on you, just a joke in general. Not gonna argue with you. Take a Xanax, drink a beer, meditate or whatever so you can chill the fuck out.

Hidemyass isn't worth a shit. They log peoples info.
A guy was using it and the hidemyass company ended up ratting him out to the feds just from a simple IP info request..
Your ass ain't hidden if they are going to snitch on you when requested to do so.

You need to just kick out the $6 to $10 a month for a VPN that does not log your info.
Some keep logs for 12 hours and some keep logs for 6 months!
I honestly believe if one of those companies that logs for 6 months is threatened with prosecution and/or jail time they will give up your info.

A main reason I use one is because Facebook follows you around the entire internet while you are surfing. Doesn't matter if your logged into Facebook or not.
Facebook knows more about the average person than they know about themselves!!!

FB can track you even if you're behind a proxy, either using cookies, trackers, compromised scripts, "associate" sites you patronize that use their API, or simply by fingerprinting your browser. They can do it even if you go through Tor. Same thing for Google, MS, Yahoo, CloudFare, the NSA, GCHQ and all the others. That's how Silkroad was busted.

You need more than a way to conceal / obfuscate the data link if you want true privacy.

There's a browser addon named "Ghostery" I suggest everyone reading this download it. It blocks ALL trackers.
You can actually see them come up by name as they are being blocked.

I would also suggest reading this and following all the instructions but instead of adding 'adblock plus' use ghostery because 'addblock plus' sucks ass:

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2012/04/4-simple-changes-protect-your-privacy-online

I would also suggest downloading ccleaner for free here:
https://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER
Follow the instructions in the text file to activate it so your 15 day trial will not run out.

AT LEAST YOU NOW HAVE A FIGHTING CHANCE!

Then kick out the $10 bucks for the VPN. problem solved.
What can I say?
I don't like greedy fucking companies using my personal information and surfing habits to market me shitty products and spam the shit out of me.

Since I am not a total dick and I think Joe deserves every penny he can make off of this forum and his blog I have them both whitelisted.
Just whitelist the fucking site and let Joe make a few cents when you buy something vape related.
All the shit he has done for us giving us this forum, saving us hundreds of dollars on deals.
He deserves to make money.
Or would you rather the Chinese keep them few extra cents on each sale?
You aren't losing shit so I don't understand why everybody is trying to knock the mans hustle?

I have the lot installed - Ghostery, AB Edge (with VU whitelisted), Random Agent Spoofer, Noscript, Flashblock, Cookie Monster, Torbutton. I usually browse through Tor, as I said, and I'm under Linux (with a patched Bash shell, for those who follow the security news :))

I get ad's for pantyhose & shoes from places I have never been. I think it's pay back for turning my Ex Landlord in to religionist groups. Could be Yahoo, Don't know, don't care. Delete takes nothing. Told them I would buy some if they sent a Babe with them. :)

It saddens me when HTTPS everywhere doesn't work everywhere :(

If you're really keen on using HTTPS only, there's also the HTTP Nowhere add-on. But be prepared to leave it off most of the time, as it'll basically break three fourth of the internet for you :)
