They did it to us in my hometown as well...but they don't enforce it in bars and whatnot
New York seems to be particularly susceptible to lobbying given how they banned the sale of vehicles by manufactures and require a 3rd party. Even though Tesla was the only one selling direct and it was better for the consumer.
