So, I posted a laptop on Craigslist the other day, and I've been getting good responses from locals looking to trade nothing I want but interesting stuff. The draw back it seams Craigslist is flooded with scammers I've gotten two dozen emails in the past two days from people that do not understand how to compose a sentence in English or that want me to ship over sea's. You can easily see witch emails are a scam and witch are not.
Heres the most recent scam email.
Thanks you for the response according to the description,am okay with
the price and the condition pasted on cl. I am ready to make instant
purchase. My mode of payment would be in Certified Check and i will
arrange for a local pick up as soon as you get the check, because that
is the only convenient means for me and due to my work frame i can
not be able to get there and i promise everything will go smoothly.I
really wish to be there to check out the item but i don't have chance
cause am very busy person (US MARINE). Concerning the pick up, i will
arrange for it after you receive the payment and it clears... Pls get
back to me with below info so that i can proceed with the payment
immediately if you are selling to me.

If you google the first line of any email that you get you think may be a scam you'll normally get the results, but the rule of thumb for Craigslist is Never ship your items and Never take a check and if your meeting some one you don't know carry protection. And no I don't mean a condom
