Crown 2 tank: are the coils safe?

I've been using a crown 2 tank for the last few months and I love it. I rarely run into one of those coils that burns out after a day. I almost exclusively use the .25 SUS 316 coils. I'm concerned because I just found out that they have nickel legs and I use them in variable wattage mode (typically 75W). I read online that nickel can be dangerous when used in variable wattage mode. What do you think?

The legs shouldn't get hot enough to outgas. Not saying they won't, but they shouldn't.

So do you think its worth switching to another tank or RTAs in order to avoid the risk? I used to use an RDA but I got paranoid about the dry burn. I read that it makes the metal more corrosive.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the Ni legs. You will burn the cotton long before you overheat the Ni.

If you are concerned about corrosion in rebuildables, use 317L stainless.
