Does anybody know what type(s) of wire the coils in the 8 in 1 set are made of? Kanthal, SS ... ?

Thanks in advance.

they work fine I won a set awhile back I like the alien claptons alot using them in a couple RDA's
Good to hear! I have 500 feet of 26ga Kanthal and 500 feet of 38ga Kanthal and while I am able to build simple coils on my own, I don't have the necessary room and equipment to make the kind of coils I want to make at home. I should have thought of that before buying all that wire! Still, I'm saving the wire for the future where I will hopefully have the room and equipment I need. In the meantime, I'll be playing with the coils in the set and see which I like the best.

That 26 & 38 are perfect for making some simple single core or fused Claptons.
No need for much equipment or space, just a drill, a pair or hands and a bit of skill.

Thanks for the help! I have made one Clapton when I was at the local vape shop with help from the owner and it was successful. However, we were using a large table and a vice to hold the other end of the wire. I don't have a large table or vice at home. Do you know of any YouTube videos on making Claptons without a large table and vice? I'd like to put my wire to use if possible!

For short Claptons you don't really need a big table or a vice, since the core(s) can hold it's own weight.
For longer Claptons or if you can't get the hang of building Claptons in mid air, you can get simple vice you can attach to any table and a swivel (both can be found in any hardware store), no need for an heavy duty one.
And as for a table, any table will do, the kitchen table or your computer table.

The problem with mass produced Claptons is questionable quality / dirty wires and thick wrap wire, usually 32G.

I just sit on the floor in my living room, tie a couple of swivels to the coffee table leg. No real need for a table and vice etc to buzz out a few Clapton's, it's just nice to have a comfortable work area if you start doing more intricate time consuming coils.
