Brushed my teeth with a big ball of toothpaste, and drinking lot of ice water.
That helped a lot.. but I like your method much better

Canned Pineapple also works but the fresh works better along with pickles and lemon water. (Flavored)

For some reason i find alotta mouthwash and some cough drops work well for me. Also try eating something with hot sauce, force your taste buds to wake up. The hot sauce might not work for everybody, but it works for me.

I watched a video online with a fella talking about breathing in coffee beans from a cloth pouch to refresh the palate. Not sure whether it works as I don't drink coffee so it's just a bit of useless info to me lol

Tongue Scraper. Lot of people mention vaping menthol or unflavored juice helps. I usually just ride it out with a lemon vape.
