about every other week....but I use ss mesh wicks, so they don't dry burn as well as pulling out a cotton wick and dry burning.

Not until my coil fails on me.

This one (SS Clapton coil) is going on 3 months.

Just a dry burn and a new wick about every third tank.

More than I need too. Since I am new to building / wicking the only way to practice / try new things is do it a lot. I do have one that I had in for 3 weeks so far, it was my best one to date and I haven't duplicated it yet.

90% of the time I run my coils until they pop. I'll just pulse the coils to heat up and burn off gunk a couple times with a final couple pulses followed by a dousing in water to rinse off the ash before a rewick. Couple my RDAs I might just tear the coils out after a week or so if it is an exotic coil I was testing performance on, but most my single core claptons, twisted, parallel, and standard coils I run till they pop. Temp control builds with Ni200 Nickel, or Ti1 titanium, I'll change with the wicking as you can't really safely pulse fire the wire clean without melting the wire (Ni200) or forming titanium-oxide (Ti1).

Pretty much the same here as everyone else. I just pull the old wick, dry fire until the smoke stops, cool and rewick, OR make a new coil just to try a new build.

Same as everyone. When I feel like I'm not getting enough draw, I scrap it. Otherwise, dry burn, lightly brush, rinse ash.

I only build or add a new coil when the old one no longer survives pulsing for a good cleaning.

Most last well over a month for me, sometimes several months.

This. I only install a new coil when the flavor has seriously fallen off, or when I start tasting hot metal, OR, when I start seeing gunk buildup almost right away after a dry-burn, rather than it taking a few days to a week. At least a month per coil, probably usually more.

I'm a weirdo. When I start seeing scorch marks on the coils I replace.

Like most everyone else that has replied, I only replace my coils if they burn out, or get deformed unless I'm just wanting to try out something new build wise.
