I'm not sure how this is news or would come as a suprise to anyone. If there's big money to be made then you can bet that DT is interested.

He can be pro big tobacco without being against vaping. He can support both. They aren't mutually exclusive.

I doubt at this point that monetary gain is the motive behind anything Donald Trump does.

Monetary=pertaining to money. My point was that trump doesn't need to be pro this or pro that to make money. He is already worth billions. I would say his motivation in supporting big tobacco is probably more geared towards what he believes is good for the economy. When you have as much money as someone like trump, not everything you do is about making more money. He doesn't need to make more money to maintain his status. When you have that much money, the industries you support have an effect on the economy. I think he is more concerned with maintaining or improving the value of the dollar than with making more money. He can make all the money he wants to but it won't mean shit if the dollar is worth less. Value of the dollar means how much a dollar will buy and how much the dollar is worth compared to the currency of other countries. People who are that rich do more to maintain the value of the dollar than they do to make money.

Trump is a business man,and one helluva one at that,he came back from being bankruptcy and thats rare

smoking tobacco has not been a good thing since the days of the "peace pipe"

BT makes stinkies,,pays taxes state n federal
you buy a pack, pay more taxes state n federal
you get sick from smoking,go to the hospital, hospital pays taxes state n federal

heres the rub, over 55%+ of the gooberments operating expenses come from medical taxes

they don't want you to sick, they NEED you to get sick

Whats interesting is Trump inherited his money from his father.. If you compare his fathers net worth with what Donald Trump has today he has not made any money only maintained what he inherited hard to believe but true

Anything that makes you depend on the system to survive is helping to maintain the value of the dollar. This is why the government is against vaping. People don't get sick from it. When you don't get sick, people don't get paid and it does nothing to maintain the value of the dollar. So they are trying to make it look like vaping is more hazardous than smoking. People think it's harmful, then they will smoke and actually get sick. That's largely the same concept behind the criminalization of green. Alcohol is legal and people get so addicted to it they need drugs to detox. Green is illegal, yet no one has ever gotten physically addicted or become so dependent that they needed drugs to detox. Vaping regs are reefer madness all over again.

I see your point but if that was the case then those billionaires would all stop once they gained enough worth to ensure that they, their loved ones or future generations would never have to work again. Sadly, this is far from reality. Once they reach that pinnacle and have amassed more net worth than they would ever be able to spend in a lifetime it becomes a game to them. It's a vicious and corrupted game of "keeping up with the Jones'" in terms of power and wealth. Whoever has more money has more power, whoever has more power has more money. The only goal after this is absolute power and we all know what they say about absolute power.
Once a greedy, power hungry slimeball,ALWAYS a greedy, power hungry slimeball. Trump is a perfect example. He has all the money he'd ever need so whats the next logical step? Running for prez to gain absolute power.

Don't think for one second that ANY of our current candidates(or any since Kennedy for that matter(maybe Ron Paul but we'll never know)) actually want to help our nation as a whole.
I'm 36 and we havn't had a good administration in my lifetime. Carter,Reagan and Clinton were decent but for every bit of good they did, there was just as much bad. The rest did nothing but make life easier for the haves and more difficult for the have-nots.
Being pro BT,BP or any other corrupted corporate conglomerate that deliberately puts American citizens in harms way does NOT help the economy. Atleast not for the average citizen. I go out of my way to avoid politics because all it does is piss me off so please forgive me for being a bit ignorant on the subject and going off on a slight tangent but from what i gather,if BT died tomorrow and BP went back to researching and developing medicines to heal as opposed to harm, the U.S. dollar wouldn't suffer much if any devaluation locally. For that to work however, there would need to be a drastic turnaround in how our government appropriates the spending of tax dollars and actually spend them on what they were collected for as opposed to lining the wallets of the fat cats while amassing trillions in natl. debt. You'd have to be completely naive to think that everything is on the up and up when it comes to revenue collected versus spent.
If BT folded and BP did a 180* the U.S. dollar would decline as a world currency due to that tax revenue being lost and world trade but we have a handful of industries in their infancy that are primed and ready for the push to take their place. There aren't many that are willing to do this though because they've either grown too accustomed to that financial/power pillow or they've been brainwashed by the propaganda pushed and passed by dead, racist bigots that collectively only had a handful of good ideas.
Just look at what's happening with vaping for further proof. Unless you're completely naive and regardless of what side of the fence you're on,you have to be able to see that the #1 reason for the legislation for regulation is money and power. Money from the taxation of any survivors of the regulations while keeping the tobacco industry strong and profitable. Power to manipulate and control the population, civil liberties/rights(if they even exist anymore) and financial flow to keep the classes segregated.
Our government isn't concerned with the well being of us or our children. They never have been. If they were then they would have outlawed tobacco the second they classified it as a class A carcinogen. Some would say "well look at how well prohibition worked" and they would be right to an extent but if tobacco was classified as a schedule 1 or even sch. 2 narcotic and officials worked their magic with "reefer madness" like smear campaigns and scare tactics i'm willing to bet it would gone within a couple generations.
Drug addicts are addicted to the high and euphoria that comes from the drug itself. Some are also addicted to the "ritual" of preparation and use.
The only positive side effect from cigarettes is the calming effect coming from the nicotine and hand to mouth action, both to wich we have healthier alternatives for.
With that being said,i'm still a dual user because successfully quitting has been one of the hardest and longest challenges in my life but i can promise you,if tobacco was a scheduled narcotic I sure as shit wouldn't risk imprisonment over it....

Sorry everyone for the long winded reply. I just had to vent and throw out some troll food while i'm at it.;)

    @Bean8379
My post isn't directed towards your comment exclusively and hopefully you don't take offense but if you do, you might want to re-read your post that I quoted aloud to hear how it sounds.
I get what you're saying but overall, the majority of what you said sounded hypocritical. Namely this."I would say his motivation in supporting big tobacco is probably more geared towards what he believes is good for the economy."
I know you're offering another P.O.V. but the entirety of your post sounds like you're defending him(maybe i'm reading it wrong,IDK) and I just don't see how supporting an industry that knowingly and blatantly poisons its consumers for profit is good for ANY economy.
It doesn't make cents to poison the citizens that built/fuel your economy but it makes dollars.(see what i did there?;))
He could just as easily support the vaping industry wich most believe to be a healthier alternative with a similar (though less profitable) outcome. 4 billion annually is nothing to scoff at and even though cigalikes have been around for awhile now, vaping as an industry is still in it's infancy. With the right backing it would have no choice but to grow exponentially, but no,THIS IS 'MURICA!!!!!!

We'll just demonize it and allow china to take yet another profitable industry from us because the 4 billion is quite a bit less than what the poison brings in.....

Now that post makes complete sense.:)
    Cheers,

That was too much for me to read. Sorry. My point was the angle of focus on making money vs improving the value of the dollar. People with a ton of money understand the difference better than any of us. He could make as much money as he wants, which I am sure he will try to do. But if the value of the dollar is low, he can make all the money he wants but it won't be worth as much. When you have so much money, you have the power to not only make money, but to influence the value of the dollar. And if you improve the value of the dollar, you also keep yourself making money as a side effect because when the dollar is worth more, people can afford to spend more money on your crap. Or at least I would assume people with that much money would know that. If they don't they aren't very smart and don't deserve billions of dollars. When the economy suffers and the value of the dollar goes down, rich people lose as much as the rest of us if not more because if we can barely afford to buy bread we aren't going to buy their crap, only rich people would but rich people already have a bunch of their own crap. I think rich people probably spend less of their money than poor people do by comparison. Meaning poor people spend 100% of their money and rich people probably spend 0.000000000001% of their money. Never made sense to me but that's the way it is. Poor people stay poor by needing more than they can afford. Rich people stay rich by having more than they need. Pretty fucked up.

i'd also like to see proof but until i see otherwise,my belief is that all politicians are corrupt and fueled by greed for either power and/or wealth.

You don't have a dog in the race so if you would be so kind, keep your ill informed opinions to yourself.
It's that left VS. right mentality that started us down this slippery slope to begin with.
None of these clowns want a better nation for all. Their only goal is more power and wealth for the elite.

I just read it to myself like i would any other post and it literally took me less than a minute.
If you can't comprehend or pay attention long enough to read half of a medium rule page of text then you also have no dog in the race and are in fact a HUGE part of the problems we're facing.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though since my post was just me trying to get some shit off my chest with very little rhyme or reason.
If you don't mind, let me dissect this real quick.
    cheers,

I think you can clearly see by what I post that although my opinions may not always be 100% accurate but I do possess a fair level of comprehension, more than what you are getting credit for. I am browsing on a smartphone, so most posts that take up more than my screen (a 5.7" screen) simply get ignored. I would say that having a dog in this race depends on my ability to have my own well thought out opinion, not my ability to read a post that is longer than my screen. I don't really need to know the opinions of others in order to form my own, if anything that deluded belief is a big part of what is wrong with the world today. Basing your opinions and actions on the opinions and actions of others is completely ludicrous to me. Opinions are based on perception, therefore ones ability to form opinions rests with how well they perceive things and their ability to process, interpret and comprehend what they perceive. My perception of politics and economics has got nothing to do with anyone else's. There is a clear difference between making money and improving the value of the dollar. When someone makes a move that they profit from or could profit from, most people look at the profit itself and not how that situation improved the value of anything. Trump or any other rich person may indeed make moves they profit from with the actual intention of profiting, but improving the value of something, especially the value of the dollar, is at least equally as beneficial as the profits one reaps if not more so. The motivation does not matter. The angle of focus certainly does, because if you don't comprehend the entire situation, you will only notice results that are affected by what you do understand about the situation.

I don't love or hate tobacco. The harmful effects of tobacco are well known. People still CHOOSE to smoke it. When they get cancer or other people get cancer from secondhand smoke, we blame the tobacco instead of the smoker. That is fucking retarded. And the fact that anyone thinks people that smoke green are "addicts" is one, laughable and two, proof that the reefer madness smear campaign actually works. I used to indulge in the green. I no longer do. I stopped on my own, I did not experience any withdrawal or anxiety and I don't miss it enough to be tempted to pick it up again. Just because something is illegal does not mean it is bad, and even if it is bad, the person using it is the one responsible for putting it into their body. If it causes someone else harm, the person who used it is still responsible. Not the substance. It's a substance. It didn't ask to be created or to be used in a mind or mood altering capacity. People choose to do that. And I did not say that supporting big tobacco is good for the economy. I said that it's possible that trumps motivation was not personal monetary gain but rather because he believed that supporting big tobacco might help the value of the dollar more than not supporting it might. I am not defending him, simply offering another point of view because a lot of people focus on money which is really a distraction from other things that are going on. Money is only a part of a bigger picture. Money is an easy target for ignorant people to focus on, that's why it's out in front all the time. People need to learn to pay more attention.

Trollmore Soup for the soul recipe:
Create a cream broth consisting of goats(see sheeple) milk and the cognitive capacity between you two, bring it to high heat to boil off the essence de trolle ,add dash of rationality, one large sprig of logic,a HEAPING tbsp of common sense,1 tsp empathy,1/4 tsp apathy, reduce heat to simmer and reduce until no bullshit remains.
Serve hot in a tinfoil hat garnished with shredded monopoly money.
If the coins refuse to show heads or tails,.....well then,.....at least you'll have a buddy to make sure your jacket straps are nice and tight.
