Ehpro Billow 2.5 Review By DeucesJack
Full Disclosure:
This tank was sent to me directly from Ehpro. This will in no way, shape, or form affect my opinion or give me cause to write a favorable review. As always, you will receive an honest, straightforward, concise review.
First Impressions Out Of The Box:
Packaging is kind of plain. Open the box though and you are greeted with what looks to be a beauty of a tank. Big, shiny, clean, and smooth are the first words that come to mind. If she vapes half as good as she looks we’ll have a winner here.
What's In The Box:
The tank comes in the box fully assembled. You also receive a spare glass, detailed instruction manual, cotton, 2 coils, allen key, spare grub screws, small bore DT, and spare o’rings. The instruction manual is pretty thick and very well done.
The Breakdown:
This tank breaks down into seven pieces. You have the base, sleeve, barrel/chimney section, glass, juice fill ring, top cap and drip tip. The machining on the metal pieces is buttery smooth. Definitely impressive and some of the best I have seen on any tank.
From Top To Bottom:
You get two drip tips. One is more of an Aromamizer Supreme style wide bore. The other is more like a smaller bore STM style DT. Both are delrin with double o'rings but the smaller bore DT has a SS base. Both are quite comfortable and stay cool while chain vaping. Personally, for this tank I prefer the smaller bore DT.
The top cap is beautifully machined. It’s smooth and clean with just the right amount of knurling to make taking off the top cap a breeze. The juice fill ports are nice and wide. They will most certainly accommodate any type of juice bottle.
The barrel/chimney section is nicely done. It has a conical design and tapers down to a pretty narrow chimney. JFC is smooth, simple and easy. Turn the tank to the right to shut down the JFC. Turn the tank to left to open her up. The barrel fits over a sleeve that screws into the deck. Not only does this sleeve seem to be unnecessary but it seems to take up a lot of valuable deck space. In my opinion this part of the tank was definitely over engineered. I would have rather seen the deck screw directly into the barrel section. The sleeve is also the one part of the tank that is not machined as well as the rest of the tank. The threading seems to be a little thin on this part and not as smooth as the rest of the tank.
The deck is a typical velocity style deck. It has Kennedy style bottom airflow to it. The wicking hole has two steps to it and the juice is fed to the cotton via the bottom of the tank. Your wicks should sit just above the middle step. The deck is surprisingly small for such a large tank. Almost disappointingly so. Threading on the base is like most of the tank buttery smooth and well done. The outside of the base has a ring for the AFC. it’s kind of loose and free but it does tend to stay in place once set. It has no clicks to it but it does have stoppers on both ends.
The 510 pin is solid and makes a great connection on all my mods. The pin does not protrude at all. The tank also sits flush on all my mods.
Building and Wicking:
Mounting a coil is typical, not much to see here if you own a velocity style deck. As I said before the actual size of a coil this deck can accommodate is surprisingly small. I got a 2.5mm SS Clapton in it but it was tight and definitely took a little maneuvering. That being said I don’t believe the original intention of this tank was to be able to fit massive exotic coils. Wicking is a little tricky on this one. You have to make sure your cotton does not hang below the middle step of the juice channel. If it does it will be dry hit city. Wick it correctly though and this is a flavor tank that will keep up while chain vaping.
But Deuces, How Does She Vape:
This is a flavor tank meant for small Claptons or simple coils. I’m running 2 SS 2.5mm Claptons in it. I’m ohming out at .24. In power mode I run it at 52 watts and the vape is great. In TC I run it at 62 watts and 500f and the vape is consistent, flavorful, dense, and delicious. This tank is not super airy and made to blast out stupid wattages and chuck massive clouds. This is not a clouds bro tank. It’s a flavor first tank. Don’t get me wrong, it's no tootle puffer but at the same time it’s no Aromamizer Supreme either.
Airflow is smooth and has a decent range. You can almost MTL it by cracking the AFC a tiny bit. Wide open it’s a semi loose lung hit. All the while getting great flavor no matter which option you choose.
Conclusion:
So who should buy this tank? I think this tank is made for the under 80 watt vaper. Put some Claptons in it and the sweet spot is just around 60 watts. This tank is for the vaper that runs simple coils and small Claptons, likes great flavor at medium wattages and wants to carry a lot of juice. It's not a juice hog at all by any stretch of the imagination. Definitely a worthy addition to any vapers collection especially if you're the type of vaper that likes to switch things up every once in awhile. This tank has earned a spot in my rotation as my big boy flavor tank. It is DeucesJack approved.
