I won free month of vape juice in Vapecrafter’s contest this month that is good for free juice anytime during the month of December at their website. Wow, winning something is a great feeling and a natural high. I was happy all day with the thought of winning something. The down side of getting high like this is you want more. So what is more enjoyable than winning something? The correct answer is giving something. I talked to the good people at Vapecrafter and they said they would send me the ordering codes and I could do whatever I wanted with them. So I’m giving them away to a U.S. military veteran that replies to this and gets the most likes here on vapingunderground between now and the 1st of December. So if you are a veteran and want to win, reply with a one paragraph reply about your service as a veteran. I’m going to be the first reply so you get a sample of what is expected.

I served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy’s medical corp. from 71-77, with the USMC’s 2nd Amphibious Tractor Battalion, during the last years of the Vietnam conflict. I served during a time when they gave you a 4 pack of smokes with your meals and sold you smokes for $1 a carton when out at sea. When veterans came back to civilian life in the 70’s , we were not treated as veterans are treated now. If people did wave at us, it often was without any fingers or sometimes just one finger. It’s much better now and I have quit smoking as of this year with the aid of Vaping.

I have an odd veteran status from the Army because I was medically discharged due to a head injury that gave me a siezure disorder before going on active duty for Air Cav.

That being said, @Midniteoyl is a vet who works with a group that donates vape gear to veterans and/or active duty (can't remember which) to help them stop smoking and I think that his organization would appreciate a giveaway like this because they would be able to use the codes to help multiple service members.

I was a Machinist Mate (Submarines) in the Navy from 84-92, getting out as a Petty Officer First Class. Came into the Army Reserves in 2005 as a SGT, was in Iraq 2005-2007, Africa for 3 months in 2008, Afghanistan 2009-2011. Returning from Aghanistan, I took my current job as an Administrator for the Reserve unit I am a SFC in, so I get to take care of Soldiers as a civilian and a military leader.

My son is about to graduate as an Intel Analyst for the Army and will be heading to South Korea for his first duty station.

I DIY and have way too much Vape stuff, so this is NOT an entry.

Thank you for thinking of the vets and passing your good fortune on to some of them.

I was in the the Marine Corps in the 70's as well. A radio operator attached with the grunts for two years as well as two years with force recon. I too was given the finger on a regular basis whenever I was seen with a uniform on, but only in the United States. It's a shifty, low paying and lonely job and I'm glad that the " mood" in America has changed about what they think of their service men and women, past and present.

    Carry on.

This is NOT an Entry! I want to say Thanks for giving to our Vet's!
I also want to say a Big Thank You to ALL Vet's!

Yes, actually I'ma vet, however I was fortunate enough to serve during a peace time.(any vet knows peace times is hell LOL) I chose to get out simply because there was no good incentive for staying in. No bonus, no opporunity offered (I requested also) to change career field. Simply put I would have just been "marking time".

Going to piggyback on this if I may.

All of the vets that post here before the end of the month that are NOT the chosen winner of this contest, please PM me at the beginning of December and I'll get 2 bottles out to EVERY ONE OF YOU.

I personally never served, but my brother has just retired after 24 years of active duty Army Infantry.

I appreciate the work you have all done more than I could ever voice. I really look forward to sending you some juice on the house from Gunner's Gold.

Like I said, end of the month, anyone that doesn't win, just shoot me a PM.

    THANK YOU VETS

Thanks for the Contest, and I thank everyone who has served before me. I am currently serving in the Marine Corps, joined Jan '11 as 3531 Motor T Operator. When I got to my first unit, MWSS-374, I found out that we didn't deploy which was a huge disappointment to say the least. I was with 374 for a little over 2 years, was a Combat Marksmanship Coach for about 6 months before I left 29 Palms, Ca. Currently serving as a Marine Security Guard for the rest of my enlistment.

I was In Infantry Basic Training and AIT in 1975 and we got the 4 pks of Marlboro or Camels with out C-Rations. Rumor was the C-Rats where left over from WWII LOL. While stationed at Fort Richard-Anchorage AK in 79-80 A PK of Cigs was 50 cents at the PX. I was in the Peace Time Army nothing like what being in the Service These Days must be like. Just the Technology difference alone is amazing to me-let alone the likely hood of being Deployed to an Over Seas Combat Zone. My Sincere Thanks to all Military Members and Veterans and families especially those serving during Non Peace time eras.

I served, or at least tried to in the Army, joined right after Desert Storm, went through basic at Fort Sill, B1/19th FA, messed my knee up ( re-injured, thought it was good before I joined)and never finished basic training, having served only 5 months I get no veteran benefits, nothing, even though I did try and had planned to stay until retirement.

I thought the same.. 90 days. And injuries during Basic should also be covered. Usually for that injury only, but it still should be covered medically.

It's been a long time since I was familar with such things, but I believe an injury that occured during basic would be covered but not on a pre existing condition. I haven't looked it up but I'd hazard a guess that the six months is related to a pre existing condition.

The whole thing is whether or not he got it "service connected".....if not, he can submit all his documentation to the VA anytime and get a ruling on that connection. The impression that I got from his post isn't that they didn't take care of him medically, but that he simply is not considered a vet which is correct. Lots of non-vets get VA medical for conditions that have been determined service connected. and yes, I deal with this stuff all the time

Here is the bottom line with Veteran's benefits as well as SSDI benefits. Do NOT rely on those departments to do the necessary legwork!! Do your own, then when you hit brick walls...find an advocate like @Midniteoyl to give you a hand with the research and networking. This is especially the case when dealing with SSDI...they WANT you to become frustrated and give up. The fact that you did not make it that far is notwithstanding...you WANTED to serve your country and that is what matters. In training or in combat, we are not alone, we have our comrades to watch over us...and for veterans and disabled veterans...this is NO different.

I was shocked that I got my connection in only six months....especially considering that my disability occurred when I was serving in the British Army. SSDI on the other hand was a three attorney, 5 year journey.

Thats the point.. In order to get benefits through the VA, you must have a Service Connected disability, served your complete time (or were an 'early out' vet), or served any time in a theater of war, and have a higher than 'Other than Honorable' discharge..(there are other conditions, such as Camp Lajeune for more than 30 day, etc). If he can prove that he was injured or had a preexisting injury 'aggravated', in service, he can get at least Medical benefits for that injury.

If it helps any, I know that I qualify for education benefits as a special status veteran because of never serving active duty. As far as I know it's the only benefit that can get, although we might qualify for VA home loans also.

My SC was a twelve year journey. SSDI required a rare reversal of a judges decision. The first Judge actually expressed an opinion that my Veterans Benefits were enough and I should not get both.

First I would Like to Say "Thank You and Welcome home to @RMarcusY and @WKR." And Thank You to all the Vets for your Service. I was in the 486th CA BN from 2006 - 2012 as a 92Y Supply Specialist. I did one tour in Iraq. I mostly DIY so would not like to be entered, but did want to say Thank You.

Served in the Air Force as a firefighter. I served in a time of relative peace as we were not engaged in an active war. Many more deserving veterans than myself on here, and I thank you all for your service. I lost some great friends in Fallujah in 04.

May all our Soldiers return home...

As of right now it looks like InMyImage is ahead with 11 likes, and he has make comment that he thinks @Franciscan's vet group should get the prize. If he wins I'll give him the codes and he can PIF to who ever he wants. If anyone disagrees with my count so far SPEEK UP or "like" the person that you think should win. I will not be doing the final count until midnight Sunday. And don't forget Botboy141's offer to give Gunner's Gold juice to all the vets that have posted here.

The group that I represent is one I co-founded with Mike of 510 Vapers and an anonymous associate who arranges distribution to the local VA Hospitals (we have two here in St Louis). Whilst I can assure you that these Vets are simply blown away by the generousity....I also challenge others around the community to start their own "Vapes 4 Vets" programmes! We got our men and women back from the jaws of death and we need to keep them around as long as possible, and not let them fall unceremoniously to cancer or other debilitating/disfiguring diseases. No level of service....in peacetime or time of war is insignificant...and regardless of their level of contribution...they have all earned a place of honour in the history of this great nation.

After his current enlistment, my son is planning on finishing his degree, then attending Warrant Officer's School......then going Air Cav with either the 3rd Inf or 1st Cav. He loves 19K, but truly wants to fly....most likely Med Evac
