Excuse me? I replied to "the issue" and had already stated I am working on the problem via tracert from people with issues.ok i give up. Apparent @CJ has had a few days off since he didn't bother to respond to the issue. The forum is unusable to me at the moment. I will check back in a few days. But if someone can't bother to update us that they are working on it, then Im gone. @CJ said he couldnt replicate the issue then blame sit on the rest of the internet causing the problem.
Joe makes a crap load of money off this site with the advertising. He could at least keep the users and teh people who pay for advertising updated on this. I can't even get through a thread to the first unread message without waiting 3 minutes. trying to scroll through the new posts list to see hwats new is impossible
I can understand having issues, but tell us something
While I am not the VU IT specialist, I can tell you that the Admins and Mods are talking behind the scenes about this right now.
Its not like we are ignoring the issue just that we have NOTHING AT ALL to share with you at the moment.
Once we do have something and better yet have it fixed, we will let you all know what is going on!
well hell right after i made the above post i got the scrip warning again ..dammit
Good call.Seems to be happening mostly on the Homepage. Maybe some of the ads?
Correct, Google now has their own version of flash as far as I can tell. Using Adobe's doesn't seem to help, and often will freeze more than just VU. I've had it occur on YouTube subscription pages, Facebook (on long conversations), etc.@CJ awesome news
I have ha dsome ssue swith adobe flash
are you saying use chromes built in flash or adobes flash for better results?
You also have the option to tell it to not ask you again with the script warning. It will still freeze for the same period of time but you don't have to interact with the warning dialog. Here's what I found strange. I've been using mozilla firefox for months on the forum trouble free. It's only been the last few weeks this started happening and I haven't changed or done anything different to my browser. I'm thinking it has to be something with the site. Why all of a sudden many people are having this issue when there was no prior posting about it? Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining I love the VU. My workaround is just to click stop script and it immediately works after that. No closing the browser or anything. Just clicking stop script and moving right along. So with that it's not a problem for me just one click. But I didn't have to do that before. Thanks for all the hard work trying to resolve this !
Thanks I'll leave it lol. At least I know as soon as I click on stop script it immediately works again. No waiting time !You also have the option to tell it to not ask you again with the script warning. It will still freeze for the same period of time but you don't have to interact with the warning dialog.
I'd like you to test and see if it only occurs while logged in, or if being logged in has nothing to do with it.Mine just froze up three times for about 20 seconds at a time. For me it is not any better.
i mean it is so bad i think whiskey is now recycling avatars.
@CJ honestly it seems random/. it works fine one minute then not the next. You could have no issues for 10 minutes then nothing but issues for 10 minutes, you could have nothing but issues, or experience no issues
I deleted all my skype while back. The only problem I have ever had is right here and this started aprox a week or so ago. All the other places i go no problem.I used to get a script warning in firefox constantly
I use firefox for my eBay listing and selling and opera for VU, Facebook, etc...
It ended up being some bullshit skype plug in that was fucking up eBay on firefox.
If I were having this problem I would go to my plugins and disable each and every one that I do not use.
It just took a good 30 seconds to pull up the comment box. It freezes while I'm typing, and sometimes while typing (like just now), it freezes up and won't let me finish. Or I can continue to type while it's in the middle of a freeze - with no letters showing up as I do it - and when it decides to "thaw out" it will spit out the rest of my sentence. It has taken as long as 10 minutes to send a simple 4-5 line paragraph in a private message because it's in slo-mo.
And just today it posted my response to a pm three times!
