My favorite band is TOOL but I generally hate "progressive" metal and really hate U2 but love Queen more than Nirvana.

Also love old country, death metal, Math Metal, Death Core, Americana, Folk, Southern Blues and Dubstep. Hate rap with all of my heart, and was sad when Kurt Cobain was killed by Courtney Love (LOL) and know every word to the movie O' Brother Where Art Thou.

Also burned all my Pearl Jam shirts one time, cant remember why.

Beat up a rapper one time at a concert. It was in the local paper. He never looked me in the face again after that and we ran into each other all the time. Gave him a nick name that stuck in his social circle.

Got to meet Fear Factory and Iron Maiden on the same night. Was 15 years old, my bass teacher who was equally good as Les Claypool had taken me. Also wanted me to go camping with him in his creepy VW camper van. Didnt happen, also quit taking lessons from him after that.

Got to hang out with KRS-One and Slick Rick at a rave and rode in a limo with Flava Flave, Tiesto and a russian DJ that didnt speak 1 word of English dude just smiled and nodded at everything. He was one of the craziest dudes I have ever met in my life. That was the person I learned what an NDA was. I was 18 years old.

Used to know a transgender person that was a tiny Asian male that turned into a tall black woman at night. Also a very skilled kick boxer. Great ally but very confusing friend.

Was kissed on the mouth by the singer of Dresden Dolls and it was the first time I had ever seen my wife get jealous. Amanda Palmer is her name and she is a very skilled musician.

Met Dax Riggs in a bar and he broke my heart. Acid Bath has never sounded the same again.

The first CD I ever bought was a Wu Tang Album and I waited in line to get it for almost 7 hours. Contradictory I am aware but it wasn't for me.

I prefer making right hand turns over left hand turns and prefer signing my name with my left hand even though I am right handed.

The first time I was suspended from school was for having TOOL's Undertow album. They same the obese nude woman was pornography. My dad broke that tape and a Beck tape and a very rare Nirvana B side album of cover songs they played on tours in Australia. Then made me go fishing with him as punishment (I also hate fishing).

All random facts, and true. Happy Friday everyone.

The only CD I ever broke of my son's was by Limp Bizkit... the reason should be OBVIOUS... I mean... EWWWWW. I wouldn't have let my HUSBAND play that shit, and my son was 12 at the time.

I once shook hands with an ex-President.....

In 1989, I was waiting in my window seat for the plane to back away from the gate to head on out to Atlanta.
I had been visiting my old army buddy out on Long Island for a week. The celebration only ended the minute they dropped me off on the sidewalk in front of JFK. Suffice to say, high and hungover pretty well encapsulates my condition.

I suddenly realized someone had extended their hand towards me, I instinctively reach up for the handshake,
and find myself face to face with Jimmy Carter. He remarks, "Sorry, I was running late....apologize for the delay."
The most surreal moment of my life.

I too have met a former President. I've had the pleasure of meeting George H.W. Bush on a few occasions. AS some of you may know from another thread I've worked as a stagehand for the last 25 years. President and Mrs. Bush were season ticket holders for one of Houston's premier musical theater companies Theater Under the Stars (TUTS). When they came to a show they would come backstage at intermission and sign autographs and take pictures with the cast and crew. One of our follow spot ops, Kenny, has worked for TUTS for at least 20 years. He used to be a body guard for the rock band Scorpions. He'd been bald on top but had a bit of hair in the back that he kept in a braid that was about a foot long. Mrs. Bush was always threatening Kenny that she was going to cut his hair. WE knew that George and Barbra were coming to the show the next night and Kenny decided that he was going to let Mrs. Bush cut his hair. When intermission came Kenny handed her scissors. SHe tried to back out but Kenny insisted that she follow through on her years of threats. I brought my camera. Set it on high speed servo and shot over the crowd of actors like a paparazzi. The tall serious looking guy in black behind the kid in the white t shirt is part of their Secret Service detail

My wife worked at a bank in the River Oaks area of Houston where the Bushes had a home after they left Washington. They used to do their banking at my wife's branch and my wife often was the teller to assist them. One Christmas when she'd moved to a branch closer to our home she received a package at work. It was for President and Mrs. Bush. It was a personal note thanking her for her service to them at the bank and a small porcelain dish that had the presidential seal in gold on the top of the lid and President Bush's signature in gold on the under side.

Politics aside they were very gracious people and they did a lot in the Houston community.
