I'd vote Vaporesso as I have one of their mods that is great.
Wismec? No idea about their 510s now days. I'd have to get some user reviews, not 'reviewers' that said they were good on the mod I was looking at.

I'm loving my Aegis Legend. I've been using about a week with no glitches.

I'd say it depends on what and where you already invested.

I've purchased disposal mods.. Both eleaf/isticks 100w and tc100w outlived most. The gbox 200 is the only one that makes sense for exploring squonking - why squonk? Because squonkable RDA's are fairly cheap as clones and you can test a dozen ideas cheap.

Squonking? You can get an authentic Wasp Nano for $10; a VLS for about $15. Even a new Recurve is about $20-30. And, then there are clones of good rda squonk atties from $6.You can test a 502 clone for $11.. Want to try mechanical? about $30 investment. Regulated? about $50.

DNA? I got 2 vt133 (DNA200), used, quite cheap. Do I need more of them? Not really. I have tanks that will work on them very well. More often VW mode than TC.

YIHI? I got an sx-mini m-class used, on the cheap. I think it's about as good as a DNA, with better efficiencies. TC mode a little more often than VW, but still.. great value.

Tanks? I have a few duals - a boreas v2 clone that pees all the time, but has great flavor; a griffin25 that never leaks, but has no flavor; an aromamizer v1 that I am tired of coddling, because I can get better flavor elsewhere. I tend to live in the low 20w range, single coils: Taifun gt III, Hussar - both have great flavor; some $5 Monster v2 clones - great flavor and simple.

I've done singles. duals, tanks, rdas (drip this), genesis, squonking, even RBA cartomizers like the Terminator and killer 705(?).

I've even tried Wismec, and will never give them another dime. I'd say your foremost issue is your atomizer, pick a few you can rely on - then get something DNA or YIHI that will Just Work. The gbox is my current exception, as I wanted to get beyond single-cell-mech-squonk - and it's not a huge exception, as I've a buddy with a 3d-printer that wants to try a mod - so, fuckall - we can try a one and 2 cell YiHI and or DNA.

If you want CHEAP and reliable, then check the eleaf/isticks. Why? Because the silly things live long enough to even PIF to others.. And they are supported by Arctic Fox sw.

The e-leaf I-power’s are actually brilliant mods for being budget. Absolutely loved mine. The new ones look really cheap and wasn’t that impressed. But you can’t beat the old style ones

I use the Vaporesso Switcher myself. It's pretty durable, and I haven't had any issues so far. I don't use the tank it comes with though so I have no input on that. I prefer the Revvo tank from Aspire just because the coil life is between 2-3 weeks.

If I had to choose between those three I would put my money into the Aegis Legend. For myself I would hunt down a LV Therion 75DNAC or the new Paranormal 200DNAC.

I’ve got two of the vaporesso revengers that I use every day. I really like them. They have power and temperature curve functions along with all of the regular power and temperature modes.

Redbullque, you like the aegis more than the voopoo? If so why?

I really wouldn't say more ...the atomizer auto set is about all the AEGIS LEGEND is missing ...aesthetically it's about preference. Whereas the Voopoo has Resin plate...The AEGIS has the supple leather palm rest...Fit wise the AEGIS wins hands down with it's form and curves even like the push trigger rocker better. Both function great... I've had the AEGIS for about a week and it gets no rest.... When my Voopoo was stolen I wanted to eventually get another..may still do but for now the LEGEND has plugged it's spot snugly. The Voopoo was riding a hype wave when I got it and believe me it deserves it..... But if I still had it I still would have bought the legend and would probably using it just as much. Also the mesh tank it came with is sick and haven't changed the coil yet even with running about six different juices through it [IMG]

    Aegis legend hands down.
I wouldt't get too hung up on chips, unless you are a big TC vaper, which I am not.

I like my voodoo drag, and it does perform better than the usual smok and wismec offerings, but it's at the same level as the aegis chip wise.

I would strongly consider a smoant mod over all the others except for the aegis legend. Check out the Cylon, Charon, and Ranker. Great affordable mods with great chips.

The biggest complaints about their 510s are from 'reviewers' that said they were bad on the mod these 'reviewers' were looking at. On older mods like the RX200, RX200S, and RX2/3 the spring loaded 510 pin can get stuck after screwing on an atomizer that has a long 510, but placing a plastic washer between such an atomizer and the mod is still an easy solution that works, and that typically has been ignored by the 'reviewers' in question so, right off the bat, this issue has been blown way too far out of proportion. The same ignorance applies to the fact these mods are easy to take apart and put back together again. The 'reviewers' conveniently ignored this fact whilst they kept heavily exaggerating the number of user complaints (i.e. systemically ignoring how that compares to how many users there are who don't have problems) about some certain issues, e.g., problems resulting from the wiring being too thin, the soldering point of the wire breaking off of the 510, and supposedly poor contact between the press fit 510 and the body of the mod (when the reality is that no-one has come up with any real world tests or measurements that support that statement regarding poor contact). Even if the 510 on these mods does have issues─that is, even if we could assume yours will have, and BTW that is a big assumption─it is still easy to replace with a Fat Daddy 510 if you know how to use a dremel and a soldering iron, again because of how easy it is to take the whole mod apart and safely put it back together again. Same deal with the screw threads on the Predator 228 falling out. They can be glued securely back in with a tiny amount of JB Weld or super glue by using just a hammer and 24 hours of patience, yet the 'reviewers' and their fan base kept hammering on the entire Wismec mod lineup instead.

Wismec have since increased the travel on the spring loaded pin so with the RX300 this has been greatly improved. The quality of the 510 is actually even better with newer, or less old models like, for example, Sinuous P228, RX Gen3, Ravage 230, RX2 20700, RX2 21700, and RX Gen3 Dual (and that is despite that 'reviewers' got paid by other mod manufacturers to keep on forever bashing these). But for me the RX300 still wins because I never vape on a regulated mod without using both wattage mode and a custom power curve, and the latter feature requires additional power output in order for battery life to remain acceptable to me, as well as requires ArcticFox firmware and NToolbox software ( https://nfeteam.org ) in order to be user-friendly enough for it [a custom power curve] to be even worth considering by me. Apart from my RX300, the only mods I'll use are a PWM mod and, almost exclusively these days, my growing collection of all-authentic, high performing, mech mods. So ArcticFox is the one and only reason why I still use a regulated mod every once in a while. So as far as regulated mods are concerned, without the ArcticFox custom power curve I would have simply hammered them all flat. :)

    So, I'm looking for a new mod. In defending Wismec (which I own one that I like), you suggest I take my new mod and;

Use plastic washers to adjust for the lack of travel on certain 510s.
Open my new mod up and de-solder then re-solder connections.
Take a Dremal and soldering iron to it replacing the 510.
Finally, take a hammer and glue to screws holding things together.

    Sounds reasonable to me...

Only on those older models that are now obsolete anyway.
Only on those older models that are now obsolete anyway.
Only on those older models that are now obsolete anyway.
Only on the original oldest Predator 228 model that has since been replaced with an updated model so Wismec have already fixed that issue.
Even if these issues had still existed in the newer models that I mentioned, which, BTW, they don't... then, in comparison to what the other brands are doing, right now it would still be the only thing reasonable. That's just how pathetic a regulated mod vapes without using a custom power curve to get the best flavor, and how seriously retarded a custom power curve is without using ArcticFox.

Personally, I only use mods that will do Replay mode. Why I'd want to dink with battery fade on a mech or adjusting voltage as batteries discharge on a PWM is beyond me.

My opinion (actually it is more like an experience) has been backed up by everyone I know has tried the custom power curve. But for reasons that are plenty obvious, opinions from those who consistently kept refusing to try it are best steered clear of (and TBH that's also in my experience).

Oh, I see now! Everyone likes it.
    Well, that's different.
I'll certainly defer my taste, experience, and vaping style for that.

No, not everyone likes it.. and in fact I never said that. A lot of people just like to keep nagging on the internet instead, usually about something that they never actually even tried. :hint:

EDIT: And BTW what you call "vaping style" I call lack of style. Who the fuck cares that it is consistent when the reality is that the only thing consistent about it is that it consistently performs shitty in comparison. ;)
