I'm new to vaping, I've been using one of those CE4 tanks for about the past two weeks and I recently ordered my first mod box which should come today.

I didn't want to spend to much money starting out, so I ordered me a Eleaf iPower 80 watt mod box and a Kangertech Pangu tank. I've read that there has been some issues with certain Kangertech tanks on Eleaf mod boxes, so hopefully I don't have any. The whole setup cost me 45 dollars and change, shipped.

Now I just have to research these mod boxes, as I wouldn't even know what settings are for what.

Just wanted to let everyone on the forums, know where I'm at in the progress of vaping, and to say hello to everyone.

    Welcome to the underground

Jump in the forums and ask away about the box mods probably worthwhile stating your budget range and whether you want something simple to use or something that gives you a little more customisation and control ...there's a lot to chose from ;)

    Welcome to the VU!
The iPower is an excellent choice for your first mod. It's very straight forward with wattage, 5000Mah battery lasts forever. The mod does the work... you just adjust the wattage up or down until you find the spot where you like the way your juice tastes.

Welcome @Mojave and I hope you enjoy your stay!

I have a couple of eLeaf MOD's which have served me well and I have the Pangu Tank which is great in my opinion. Just remember to open the liquid flow when you install the tank or you will burn the coil out pretty fast!

Thank you to everyone who replied. I have the Eleaf iStick Power charging for use, later on today.

Since this is new to me, could someone confirm that my research was correct in that I can safely use the Kangertech Pangu tank with the Eleaf iStick Power mod box?

I know some tanks are not compatible with certain mods, so one can't always go by the fact that it has a 510 connector.

Here is the information for the Eleaf iStick Power:

Eleaf iPower 80W 5000mAh Temperature Control Mod

The Eleaf iPower is powered by a long lasting 5000mAh built-in battery which is designed to last all day. The Eleaf iPower features a sleek and smooth finish which is both comfortable to hold and aesthetically pleasing. The maximum output of this device can be reached up to 80 watts. The Variable Temperature Control system offers support for Nickel (Ni), Titanium (Ti), and Stainless Steel 316 (SS316) coils. The Eleaf iPower also features Bypass, Smart and Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) modes. The Eleaf iPower features a dual circuit protection which applies over-charging, over-current, and over-discharging protections. This device may be charged and also download future firmware updates via the Micro USB Port.

    Features and Specs:

    • Dimensions: 3-1/4" x 1-7/8" x 7/8"
    • Battery Capacity: Built-in 5000mAh Battery
    • Wattage Output: 1.0 - 80.00w
    • Variable Temperature Control : Nickel / Titanium / Stainless Steel 316/ TCR
    • Temperature Control Range: 100 - 315C / 200 - 600F
    • Bypass (Direct Output Voltage) and Smart Mode
    • Resistance Range: 0.05-1.5ohm for Variable Temperature Control Mode
    • Resistance Range: 0.1-3.5ohm for Variable Wattage and Bypass Mode
    • OLED Display Screen
    • Bottom Ventilation Holes
    • Micro USB Charging Port
    • Upgradeable Firmware
    • Reset Button
    • Dual Circuit Protection
    • Over-charging Protection
    • Over-current Protection
    • Over-discharging Protection

Here is information for the Kangertech Pangu tank:

    Kangertech Pangu

Kangertech is proud to introduce the unique Kanger Pangu tank. The Kanger Pangu features cartomizer style PGOCC atomizer heads for maximum flavor. The Kanger Pangu is a 3.5ml capacity tank that is designed for both mouth to lung and direct lung vaping styles. You may use the SUS316L PGOCC 0.5ohm atomizer head designed for both SUS316L Temperature Control or Variable Wattage for a great direct lung vaping experience. You may also use the NiChrome PGOCC 1.5ohm atomizer head designed for variable wattage for a smooth mouth to lung experience. The Kanger Pangu PGOCC atomizer heads are specifically designed for a simple and clean removal of atomizer heads. This unique design helps keep your hands clean when replacing the atomizer head.

The Kanger Pangu has an adjustable juice flow control system and features dual airflow slots. The Kanger Pangu is conveniently filled from the top as well. The Kanger Pangu features a durable stainless steel construction with a uniquely designed architecture to help reduce condensation. In addition to the PGOCC atomizer heads, the Kanger Pangu has a replacement glass and spare o-rings included in the kit as well.

    Features and Specs:

    • Dimensions: 2" x 7/8" (Including Drip Tip and Threads)
    • 22mm Diameter
    • 510 Threaded
    • 3.5ml e-Liquid Capacity
    • Designed for a Simple and Clean Removal and Replacement of Atomizer Heads
    • May be used for both Mouth to Lung and Direct Lung Vaping
    • Conveniently Top Filled
    • Unique Architecture to Reduce Condensation
    • Glass Tank
    • Stainless Steel Construction
    • Dual Airflow Slots
    • Adjustable Juice Flow Control
    • Unique Cartomizer Style Pangu OCC (PGOCC) Atomizer Heads
    • Includes (1) SUS316L PGOCC 0.5ohm Atomizer Head for SUS316L Temperature Control or Variable Wattage
    • Includes (1) Nichrome PGOCC 1.5ohm Atomizer Head for Variable Wattage

I believe that the SUS316L 0.5ohm comes installed in the tank from the factory, I plan on using this to start out with and from there, it's my understanding that all I need to do is confirm that the mod box is set for the correct ohm and then adjust my wattage in between the recommended wattage on the atomizer and I should be able to start vaping?

This is what you need to look at... As long as the Ohms in your Pangu coils do not go below these limits...you are fine.
Also, the Pangu is only 22mm so it should look okay as well.

    Here's my build!

One concern that I have. I'm going to have to buy a wall outlet, 1 amp adapter for charging this mod. The manual indicates that it should take 6.5 hours to charge with a wall outlet adapter. Charging the mod on the USB port on my computer, approximately 3 to 4 hours into the charge, the display went blank. Pushing all of the buttons, did not turn on display. With the mod still plugged into the computer's USB port, I turned on the mod and the battery indicator was full. I turned off the mod and continued to leave the mod plugged into the computer's USB port for at least 10 hours to be certain. But one has to wonder if the mod is getting a full charge on my computer's USB port. I think I'll buy a wall outlet adapter for the next time I charge my mod.

The Kangertech Pangu tank fits on the mod nicely. I didn't prime the coil in the traditional sense as it's my understanding that the design of the Pangu tank, primes itself once you open coil after filling the tank with juice. It's been about an hour since the coil was opened to allow for priming. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to place a drip or two of juice, directly down the pipe and onto the coil, or is this not necessary with the design of the Kangertech Pangu tank?

Not all mods have a full charge indicator. But on mine.. I can hit the fire button while it's on the USB charger and see where the level is at. When the level shows full, I take it off. I've had no issues at all charging mine on the USB.

I prime all coils... simply put a drop or two in the center hole... let it sit for a good 10 mins. Then when firing a new coil I start my wattage down low... like 15 watts... take a couple hits... 17watts... take a couple hits... you get the drift.

Thanks everyone. Here's an update after about a week with my mod. Still haven't had to recharge the battery. This battery is amazing!. I started off at 15 watts and moved up higher, however I noticed as I moved up in wattage, the vape became warmer. Maybe I'm still use to the pens, but I didn't care to much for that. I just moved up to 16 watts and it's great. More clouds from a cool vape and the flavor is strong.
