Quick info on me first since it's been so long since I've been around that I don't think anyone knows who I am. I was a internet vaping personality from the early days and I hold the distinction of being the first one to have my own line of product with the Vapenstein Blend line of eliquid that launched in early 2011. I was one of the very early pioneers in natural tobacco extracts. People already had the Youtube thing covered, so I aimed to have the best vaping blog in the community and launched on Halloween 2010. I finally took it down in 2017 I think. Some of you may have read Vapenstein or vaped the juice back in the day, many of you won't have been around. So for all the reasons that I got out of having product with my name attached and being a public vaping personality, for the last several years I've just vaped and not really paid any attention to Youtube or web forums.

FDA regs scared me enough that starting in 2011 I put a lifetime supply of pipe tobacco away. I am good to go there. Now from what I can decipher from the many, many forum threads and Youtube videos we have big problems in the near future regarding availability of the stuff we need to keep vaping.

So here's where I'm at. I just went nuts buying new mods and rtas after not buying anything new for years. I am good on hardware. I have a lifetime supply of wick. I make my own eliquid so I very much doubt that flavorings or VG will ever be an issue since they were around before vaping and have other uses. Same goes for kanthal.

Which leaves nic base. What is going to happen? I gather May 12 is doomsday, so if I just need to buy all the nic base I can afford between now and May 12 I can put enough away to last me my lifetime.

Don't tell me to rtfm. There is so much information out there on this that it makes it daunting for someone who hasn't been paying attention to figure out. My one concern is nic base. What do I need to know so that I can be prepared? Thank you.

There are other people who know more, but as I understand it, as of present they haven't gone after nic base YET....but it seems likely given the trends they will eventually...I think planning for a worst case scenario is the most prudent bet......on the other hand it appears Trump is trying to ply the hands of the FDA off tobacco, and create some sort of regulations that are more geared toward actual public health, over the interest of big tobacco or big pharma.

A large part of the discussion around here has been centered around nic. As you said, buy as much as you can afford, within reason, and put it in tightly-capped amber bottles in your freezer.

There is a nicotine calculator around somewhere. I'll try to find a link for you, so you can roughly calculate how much you think you'll need.

Some things have already been affected that we figured would not be - like flavors, for example. Several online vendors have started to camouflage themselves in regard to vaping - Nicotine River is no longer that, is River Supply Company now, just one example - Gremlin DIY has changed its name also. It seems they are trying to avoid an association with vaping in order to stay away from any regulations that will eventually come down.

There's no telling what will happen with Flavorah.

The other consideration is that regulated mods will eventually die, even if you spend tons of money on them. A good stash of simple, durable, repairable mech mods, tubes or boxes, is protection against one of these days not having devices to vape on. My personal opinion is that the Geekvape Athena kit is just about ideal for this. No wires, no boards, simple as it can be, and works really well. Not the slightest bit finicky.

Spare glass and o-rings for your RTAs will be good to have as well. I bought up wire and cotton, too, just because there's no reason not to and it makes me feel more settled.

And again, just to be cautious, I have picked a couple of mixes that are favorites of mine, and have bought enough flavors to make those few mixes for several years.

Now there appears to be a concern about batteries. Jeez Louise, will this never end? Those companies have let this run out for 10 years now, and all of a sudden everybody's on a hate-vaping bandwagon. I guess we'll have to buy some extra batteries, too, and hope that Molicells stay around in the future. LG, Samsung, and Sony have all apparently already decided that they can't sit still for the status quo.

    Vapcell? Who knows?

    That's what I have.

Good thought - maybe time to dig out the old Leo pens!

Now you've made me wonder if these little AIOs I have will work while plugged in to charge. The Smok Trinity Alpha does not. Will have to check a few others. (The Smok Trinity Alpha apparently does not work at all, so never mind that.)

What's a device that is mostly mechanical, that can be charged via USB and will work when plugged in to charge? The Vapor Storm Raptor squonker has USB charging, but mine is packed up and I have no idea if it can be vaped while plugged in. Recurve squonker, maybe?

    The iJust-S tube works.

    Time to start checking this.

well at 3.6ml nic per 240ml bottle of juice I figure a couple gallons should last me a good long time. That's what I'll do.
