Thought I'd quit lurking and finally introduce myself. I never smoked cigarettes but I smoked a pipe for almost 20 years, inspired by a roommate. I was mainly drawn to the pipes themselves. I loved the beautifully carved bowls and fancy stems, never really got into the taste that much, because it wasn't great. I finally got fed up with the hassle (spilling ashes, cleaning the pipe with salt and whisky), plus I read an article that said pipes had a high risk of mouth cancers. So I switched to cigarillos but decided I was smoking them too much, so in 2017 I got myself an e-pipe. But it was really expensive ($170) and leaked a lot and it was too heavy to hold between my teeth like an analog pipe. Back to cigarillos. Then last summer I got an email from VaporFi. They had a sale on mods, so I bought one. And I was hooked! I thought having to push a fire button would be annoying but it isn't. Since then I've progressed to better mods. Mods satisfy the gear-collecting urge that pipes used to, plus I love electronic gadgets. Another plus is I went on a low-carb diet last month and vaping satisfies my sweet tooth so I've been able to lose 9 pounds. Thanks to this board I've learned a lot about battery safety and I've changed some battery habits. I'm looking forward to learning a lot more!
