Plastic and it was just sitting there for maybe and hour then it happened

Some juices also could degrade it.
But sounds more like a defect in the mfg.

The plastic drip tips on my clearomizer tanks crack all the time. Not sure if they're similar to yours or not, but they were threaded and screwed onto the top of the tank. The tips were actually two pieces glued together, some of them the threads broke where the factory glue let loose inside, others developed hairline cracks around the outside. Didn't sit on them, set them down hard, drop them. One minute they were fine, the next a crack was forming. I chalked it up to cheap plastic.
