I am using an IPV4 with a Kanger Subtank and the ni200 coils. I work 80 hours a week in the shop and have tried 1000's of box & mech mods, a million different builds. But.... The flavor is unreal with the set up. I did a lil research but this does not help..

  1. It is equal to the energy transferred (or work done) when applying a force of one newton through a distance of one metre (1 newton metre or N. m), or in passing an electric current of one ampere through a resistance of one ohm for one second. It is named after the English physicist James Prescott Joule (1818–1889).
I like 30 joules at 280 degrees and my batteries last forever (good thing since the fake charger port has no use)

I'll take any input you have..

I am using Nickle OCC coils for my subtank & IPV4, coils are .15ohm. When on temp control, the coil reading goes to .59. Why?
I like 30 Joules @ 400

When the atty is at room temp you need to press the +/- buttons at the same time while in Temp mode to set your resistance. That should fix it.

I run my OBS T-VCT and Kanger sub tank at 30 Joules and 420-450F with Ni200 coils depending on what I'm vaping.

I'm running my atty3 on a single ni200 coil. 50J at 550F. That seems to have improved things for me. This is my first attempt at TC, and so far not sure if I'm liking it as much. I'm going to try a dual ni200 coil build in it later this afternoon and see if that helps.

Not sure if TC is for me, but can definitely see where some people might prefer it.

Ok switched to titanium.. MUCH BETTER! 60J 535 degrees. I think I'm sticking with titanium for awhile.

What mod are you using? On the DNA 200s, you can load a titanium profile and I did that, but ti doesn't seem to get hot enuff for me. I think it taste better but doesn't get nearly as hot as nickel. My ti at 600F is cooler than nickel at like 430F. I did spaced and contact.

I'm on an IPV4S. Curious about Ti on a dna200 device. I'm eyeballing the vapor shark dna200 or the lavabox. Thats interesting about the heat on the dna200 on ni200 vs ti, can't you adjust the temp coefficient on that device?

I'm at 25-30J and 420-450F using a Billow V2 on an IPV3 Li (Ni200 @ .06 ohms)
what build do you have in your billow v2? I haven't tried a temp build in mine yet I just assumed the deck would be too small

10 wraps (each coil) Ni200 28ga usually is around .07 ohms. The same build using 26ga came out to right about .06 ohms (just checked, it's .058 on my Li). It's a tight squeeze for sure but it can be done.

On My billows there is 8 wrap 26 g TI that reads .2 contact coils. Def easier than ni200 but I think the nickle may have slightly better flavor in dual coil

25J/170C on a sx mini m with subtank mini/factory ni200 coil. I see no need for higher joules, as it is in no time at my desired temp.

Sigelei 150w TC, Atlantis 2 tank
I found a sweet spot at 48J, 400 degrees, 30 watts
Right now I'm using .5 ohm coil but when it ends, all my replacement coils are the .3 ohm coils.

I have an SX Mini M class with a Kanger Subtank. I use the OCC Kanger Ni200 coils. I run the mod at 28 joules at 385f. Works for me. Every once in a while I go up to 30 joules and 400f.

IPV 3Li VR with Crown tank and Ni200. My sweet spot is 40 joules at 450 degrees and my HG2s last almost 2 days.

I just got my Sigelei 150 so I'm still playing with it. But right now I'm at 27.3 j at 420°f with ni200 coils on my Kanger subtank at .15 ohms

OK so I run a evic vtc mini and have an eleaf istick 60w coming the evic reads in watts so how do I compare to joules? Currently running Atlantis ni200 at 48w at 460 degrees and ss at 48w at 380 degress

I think watts are pretty close to joules, just used on different boards!

I finf the joules do not matter that much. It just affectsa the ramp up tiome to get to the temp. Ask me what temp I vape at - that is more to the point. Nickel and SS I vape between 410-470 depending on the device and juice.

I set my temp limit to whatever I like-and then treat joules as watts, as essentially they are that, watts per second(there is a bit more than that, but that is basically it). . Say I would usually use 20-25W for that type of build, thats exactly what I use. I find setting the joules excessively high offers no benefit at all.

I actually wonder why some devices use joules in TC and some in watts, as it causes confusion to people.

Your Temp limit is there to stop the coil going OVER your limit, you just vape normally with one extra setting.

No... there really isn't any more to it than that.

And I agree it is creating confusion.
I don't know who started it, but I'm still going with "marketing".
Oh there isn't? I thought it was the power of 1 watt across a wire of 1 ohm for 1 second, but that is essentially it I guess really isn't it? So really it is it I guess. Joules are just another name for watts.

Yeah definitely 'marketing'. They probably thought that joules would sound better or something silly, and all its done is cause confusion to people. I just set my temp to where I would like it to max out at, and then vape normally, J/W up or down according to the build.

I don't really understand why it is confusing. In power mode it's watts. Which is how power is measured. Energy over time. Voltage is a measurement. Current adds time. It isn't a number, it's a number over a measurement of time. Expressed equally as a joule second.

Joule second is called joules. No different than kilowatts. It's not a kilowatt, it's a kilowatt hour.

I don't really think it's a marketing gimmick. Some mods show watts for power and joules for TC. Helps to differentiate the two. Same measurement. It's all a unit of energy over a unit of time.

Energy is energy. Work is Energy in motion. Energy over a distance. Power is Energy in motion over time. Work done over time. Work is foot pounds of torque. Power is horse power, foot pounds over time. For this, volts is energy, current is work (electron mass moving), power is electrons moving by applied force over time.
