Marvel will reportedly not move forward with the Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler animated shows from Hulu. MODOK and Hit Monkey are supposedly still in production, but The Offenders special will not happen. Sources from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter both say that this was the act of Marvel. Hulu was reportedly not involved with the cancellation, although The Walt Disney Company fully controls both Hulu and Marvel. Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler were announced back in February alongside MODOK and Hit Monkey. THR reports that the writing team for the Tigra & Dazzler series was fired in December due to "creative differences." They were supposedly on a 20-week schedule for production and were already in week 15 with scripts and outlines completed. Those were supposedly tossed aside in favor of finding a new showrunner. Kevin Smith was working on the Howard the Duck show and said as recently as last month that it's "So far, so good" for the series, according to Flickering Myth. Representatives from Hulu talked up MODOK and the live-action series Helstrom last week. Craig Erwich, Hulu senior VP of scripted originals, told THR that he has seen the first four episodes of Helstrom and multiple episodes of MODOK. There are seven live-action Marvel shows coming to the service that will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and an animated What If?... series. Disney XD will also air the third season of Marvel's Spider-Man and there's a second season of the Big Hero 6 series currently airing on Disney Channel. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is still on the way to Disney Channel as well as the Disney Junior series Spidey and His Amazing Friends.
