I don't know about you but I was pretty anxiously awaiting this bad boy. The two tone finish looks pretty bad to me, what do you think? At least the sleeve is removable for a paint job!

I preordered black too. I think I might use a rubberized black paint for the battery door. Give it some grip. Less hot or cold on the hand, and a little different from the pack. We'll see how it looks in person. Eciggity claims April 3rd is the estimated ship date now. I ordered from Smog.

Agreed. I'll be intently watching this one, hopefully launch with success, and at least get bugs kinked out quick if there are any. I'm excited and I'm not even getting one... Yet. I love my iPV 3, and my Mini 2 came Saturday. Inevitably this will find it's way to my mailbox I'd guess, just hate having to get new pairs of batteries.

The screen is behind the mirror face I assume. Just like the Dovpo ELVT and other box mods.

Asmods should be ashamed of themselves selling the mod that they are contracted to cover warranty on and still charging service fees. Maybe if you buy from them the warranty service fees and additional costs are void. Doubtful but it would be the right thing to do.

We DO NOT manufacture this product; we offer this warranty service as a courtesy to the US vaping community so they are not required to send their mods to China for assistance. We are not paid by Pioneer4You for our services or time.

So Asmodus isn't making anything on a service/warranty unless a unit is sent to them. I'd agree that if they were contracted with standard terms, where a company pays them to perform the service/warranty up front... that it'd be a conflict of interest of sorts but that's not the case here.

I would expect that they do make something... and I would be of the opinion ( since they aren't the maker ) that they are entitled to that whatever it is since they are not a non-profit company, the employees and management do deserve to make a living. Having said that...

We can estimate their potential profits first by subtracting the cost of sending the unit to them vs sending it overseas to China. Next add in the cost of labor for testing/fixing the unit assuming at least minimum wage for California ( then double that to cover FICA and SS costs ) and then factor in a little for income taxes and the possible overhead costs of the brick and mortar itself.

I have been checking this one out all week. I recently got the e-lvt2 30 watt and it is excellent. And I've not gone over 22 watts but I just love the look of this one. This has become an awesome hobby along with the fact I quit analogs.

I started with an elvt2. Watch those 510 threads. Stripped mine in a month or so. i cut the 510 off, drilled it out, and soldered in a fat daddy 510. Anyway, can't wait for ipv4 release news. I pre-ordered from the first shipment! Instruction manual is as expected. Not psyched about the 9v charging port on the battery door, someone needs to make rubber caps for that hole!

Eciggity is just guessing, as they have been all along. I work at Smog Distribution (where people in this thread had pre-ordered theirs for $62 shipped), and not once has P4Y ever given an actual date for the release of these boxes or a firm shipping date. That's why every vendor who offered a date has had to revise it 3+ times now.

All I can say is order some nickel wire and practice making loose coils. You'll want a Derringer or similar flavor atty. The only other thing that'll work with it are the special blue box of Subtank Nickel coils.

"My contact rep at P4Y just came back from the big ecig convention in Shenzen and just got in touch with me. He told me that NO vendor has been shipped the ipv4 yet. NONE of the retail units (with exception of a couple test units) have left factory yet. The latest delays were not related to color or chip issues (as some thought) but instead the battery door cover manufacturing. Apparently it was causing scratches on the box in putting it on and taking it off. The vendors shipments will go out as early as april 20th. Just passing it on. (i am waiting on my test unit to come as well so we are all in the same boat i guess)"

That's in line with what I was told too. though they quoted 1-2 weeks not a specific date.

Were you able to find that source @st0nedpenguin ? I've scoured the forums and reddit and can't find any confirmation that black will be delayed. Just speculation from a few folks such as myself. When did P4Y confirm this? I'm on the list for black and with everyone else starting to take delivery I am very interested!

How bout the fact that vendors have been getting the silver only in for about a week now, but nobody even knows what the final black one will even look like yet??

I spoke repeatedly with my p4y rep about delays. He did confirm to me that the black on black unit is a delay. I did see an image. i will hunt for it again.

Yea I've seen those @BUDKISS and I saw an email from Evan at P4Y stating it will be all black. No pics of that variation yet from what I have seen.

Agreed. I listed these facts above while I speculated about delays (beyond the first 2000 silver units they shipped last week). I was hoping someone had some inside information as to whether or not the black ones would in fact be released with the remaining silver preorders or not. @BUDKISS seems to have confirmed. I guess I was unclear about what I was trying to confirm. I already knew what everyone else does at this point of release. Thanks.
