A recent article on Blastingnews.com asked the question: Fiscal health before public health? Taxing e-cigarettes, a business decision.

The Center for Disease Control reports that more than nine million people in the USA choose to replace their cigarette smoking habit with vaping products. The Government is losing tax revenue every single day as tobacco sales fall. How do they recoup that revenue? The states took the tobacco money from bonds since they wanted the moolah immediately rather then wait on the payment schedule. The money went onto the general feeding trough for the politicians (general fund). Now the bonds need to be serviced and their interest paid. Politicians don't give a shit about the health of their constituents, they just want taxes and more taxes, so they are targeting vaping since Tobacco use is way down and the kickbacks and outright bribes are dwindling as big tobacco taxes are down, and the fact that big tobacco wants to fuck over the politicians that fucked them over.

if the govt taxed junk food and soda at the same rate as they do cigs,,,,everyone's healthcare would be covered with money left over.
