Was wondering if the brand of battery I buy matters for my smok alien bought two random 18650 battery's from local B and M 3000 mah I believe. Basically what I am asking is there a better battery that will either be safer or give me better performance

The battery is the heart and soul of your mod.
If you're spending money on the mod, tank and/or RDA, what is a few extra dollars to make sure you're giving it a good heart?

Personally I stick with either sonyvtc5a or Samsung 25r but that chart shows the amp limits presented by the mfr and Mooch's bench testing.
Use the amp limits found via Mooch's tests.
Try and stick to 20a or higher

yes if nothing else cheap batteries will cause excessive battery voltage sag and prevent higher wattage vaping.
Or they could vent and mess up your mod or even possibly go into thermal runaway and mess up your face.

As a general rule I won't use efest in a flashlight.
Efest uses the batteries from Samsung, lg and Sony that didn't make the cut. Then rewrap and sell them as efest cells.
All I would advise anyone to use are Sony, Samsung or lgs. Especially in multiple battery mods.
Not trying to scare you, but it's best to have all the information available.
This is the results on that battery from mooch, assuming it's the efest 3500 mAh 18650

Not pointing at the OP here, but I'll never understand one key issue about vaping: Your entire experience - be it a 200 watt box or the most basic mechanical or anything in between - is built on your battery. Without the battery you got nothing. It's the last thing anyone should ever cheap out on in their vape gear.

Efest 3500 is a very bad choice, a 10A battery not suitable for vaping and especially not for such a high wattage mod.

If you're vaping at 120W or below your best choice would be 20A 3000mAh batteries like Samsung 30Q.

Honestly the only other things I would use with that much power would be a Samsung 25r; because of its pulse rating. The Samsung 30q is said to test as a 20a/3000mah cell; however, the mfr rates it lower (15a). The Lg hg2 tests at 18a, but, mfr rates it at 20a/3000mah.
I guess to directly answer your question...No. especially not if you're planning to vape at 200w on the regular. I would stick with the 5a or 25r and err on the side of caution. But that's just me, I know alot of people rock the Samsung 30q in those mods.

Baditude was an older guy back.in ECF when I started vaping. His advice was priceless, for me at the time.Who be dat?lol
Mooch wasn't around yet and baditude had tons of good battery and mod info.
He would hang around the new vapor area and just hand out a ton of good info for new vapors.
