(FIXED. IDK HOW TO DELTE THIS THREAD) really mad. I have been using an Arctic tank that I bought at a local vender and that I love. So my boyfriend decided to buy an arctic tank for himself after he got into vaping. He purchased one from a different store, NOT the store I bought mine from. He used it for a weekish and then his coil started to taste burnt. When he bought a coil at another different location and tried to use it, it wouldnt work. So, we decided to check the authenticity of our two devices. I opened up the boxes and scratched off the scratch codes and entered them into the horizon tech websites authenticity checker. Mine came up authentic. His arctic tank, that he purchased at this store, came up as a COUNTERFIT. Note. I only entered each number ONCE. We have no idea how to proceed in this situation. I have emailed Horizon tech about the situation but other than that we don't know what to do,

What store/site did he purchase it from and did they advertise it as authentic? If so then they need to be outted to the distributor as trying to pass off knock offs

Yes they advertised it as authentic and they have a no return no refund policy. We paid $31 USD for it. He bought it from a local store. They only have one location.

We paid in cash. We always pay in cash because there are so many credit/debit card issues in our area. The name of the store he bought it from is Kingsport Vapor Lounge. You may google all you like. Im not sure if they know it was counterfit or not but either way im not at all happy about this.

Offer to be plaster their name on every social media outlet you can find.

If you're in the U.S. file a complaint with the BBB and your local business licensing agent (city usually) There are laws against false representation/advertising. And no judge in his right mind would convict you of slander for telling the truth ;)

As I said I cannot cancel the card, as he paid in cash. However I have contacted the maker of the tank abotu the situation and I have photos ready to prove whats going on. I think Im just more mad than anything. Now he cant use his $30 USD tank since of the coils around here fit in it. His mod wont even fire. It reads it as no automizer.

Thank you. Ill call my local city hall tomorrow during buisness hours after I have a talk with the vendor. I was so unsure how to proceed.

Wow that's horrible. Not much you really can do besides contacting the company that you bought the clone tank from.

You may negotiate with the store where you get the arctic tank to solve the problem. Good luck!

IANAL, but that sounds like a case of false advertising. There are federal laws against it. Probably state laws. Maybe even local ordinances.

I love clones too. But not when I pay full price for something I thought was authentic.

UPDATE:: I went to the store and all ended well. IT WAS NOT THE STORES FAULT. It was their supplier. They compensated us and are going to work with us in the future. No authorities were needed to be called. It went very well. They were very kind.

Tell the store owner the product is not an Authentic and was sold as such which constitutes fraud. He now has 2 choices instant refund and apology or you call the police and report it as fraud.

The BBB will only help if the business in question is a member.

It's a shady industry where counterfeits are accepted and welcomed. Why is it any surprise one would unknowingly buy a counterfeit?

Name an industry and I bet dollars to donuts it has counterfeits in it.
Counterfeits aren't mainstream in any industry other than e cigs... The high end watch world is full of counterfeits, but the sellers are called criminals; in the vape world they are the sponsored vendors...this is why vaping is seen as fringe and will never be mainstream...

All those items are sold on street corners or through Chinese websites and not accepted in their respected industries, or on forums promoting their industries...Big difference. The vape world is no different than the bootleg DVD sellers on street corners in DC or NYC...This website wouldn't even exist if it weren't for sponsorship or promotion of counterfeit goods...
