Learn to know your enemy, or your friend (depending if you ask Obama or not), I'm talking about Iran.

In Iran rape, drug trafficking and possession, adultery and until a few years ago gay intercourse are all capital crimes punishable by death.
Around 75% of the executions are drug related, so it is safe to say that in Iran drugs won't just get you high, they will get you hanging high:
http://www.deathpenaltyworldwide.org/country-search-post.cfm?country=Iran

even though you won't be executed any more, it's still not a good idea to be gay in Iran:
http://www.vocativ.com/culture/lgbt/iran-gay-laws/

Or to be a woman:
https://www.hrw.org/news/2015/10/28/womens-rights-iran

Or a teenager wanting to have some fun.
A group of 30 students were recently arrested and sentenced to 99 lashes each, for attending a mixed gender graduation party and drinking alcohol.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...ixed-graduation-party-in-qazvin-a7052096.html

Being a reporter is a very dangerous line of work (unless you say exactly what they tell you to say):

https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...787310-bfad-11e5-98c8-7fab78677d51_story.html

In 2014 Iran celebrated the 35th anniversary of takeover of the American embassy.
The celebrations included the usual American flag burning and calls "death to American, death to the big Satan" and much more:
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/iran-celebrates-35th-anniversary-of-us-embassy-hostage-crisis/

Speaking of annual events, Iran conducts an annual Holocaust cartoon competition:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-up-for-its-latest-holocaust-cartoon-contest/

Iran need more tourist attractions, so they intend to build a statue commemorating the recent capture of the American soldiers, to serve as one:
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/0...-captured-us-navy-sailors-commander-says.html

The U.S. State Department considers Iran the world's most active state sponsor of terrorism:
http://www.cfr.org/iran/state-sponsors-iran/p9362

had enough?

What about the previous administration? They overthrew the secular regime of Iraq and installed a puppet government that for all intents and purposes is an extension of Iran. Was that an accident? An oversight by the CIA, DIA, State Department, Pentagon and the thousands of think tanks, political analyst etc?

I have no love for Iran / Obama but this nonsense that Obama is some sort of "friend" of Iran because the deal signed to limit their enrichment of Uranium and contain the potential of them becoming a nuclear armed state is ludicrous on its face. The same thing was done to contain North Korea which makes Iran look like Sweden. The facts of the matter is, according to the IAEA Iran is complying with the stipulations of the agreement. They are not developing nuclear weapons or advancing, proliferating, exporting their tech to rogue nations. So, I have to ask, whats the point of this post? Are you a social justice warrior who cares deeply for the people in Iran living under a government they elect or are you beating a war drum? If its the Former, I expect your next post to detail the atrocities of one of our closest allies, Saudi Arabia. If it's the latter I'd recommend you take some time to reflect on Iraq and the aftermath.

With all the problems we have with our own government (FDA? remember those guys?) I find it mind boggling that people waste any time or energy into giving two shits about what Iran or any other non-threats to our freedoms do to their people.

Nuclear power is not the real problem, since Iran is not very likely to use it just like north Korea don't, it's the release of their funds and the dismissal of the arms embargo, which is going to make a negative power in the world even stronger.
You may say ISIS is worst and are Iran's enemy so let's make Iran strong, but what happens after the era of ISIS?
And yes Saudi Arabia is not much better.
The fact that Obama was willing to strike a deal at any cost even a bad deal, just so he could say "I'm a peace maker I made a deal" is just pathetic and caused America to be perceived as weak and untrustworthy even amongst it's allies.

Since you mentioned Iraq, I think that Iraq was never good place to live in, but was better off before America tried to make it more American (and left mid way) which led to chaos and that's one of the reasons that ISIS even exists.
In fact a lot of ISIS soldiers are Iraqi ex-military.

Yes vaping is important but it's not the only important thing is the world.

When I say "friend" it doesn't mean Obama is going to invite them over for BBQ and golf, no need to take everything so literally.

The point of this post was like I've said to let you learn more about the "lesser evil" you struck a deal with.

People don't hate you because they don't want human rights, they hate you because you have a lot more then they do, because you put your nose in their business, because the American way is not the right way for everyone and because their government encourages them to.

But this tread is not about whether people like you or not, It's about Iran.

What goes on in Iran is not of any consequence to us as Americans. It is however a great concern to our two biggest allies and detriments; Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Most Americans don't care about anything that happens outside America and that's fine I guess, I'm just providing some info and you can do with it what you want, or not.

And that's why most Americans are fine sending billions to Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and dozens of other despotic, oppressive regimes.

I personally don't really give a shit what happens outside America, and I resent the hell out of those in power who insist on dragging us into every little fart that's let, internationally. I also oppose sending one red cent to nations which have NEGATIVE understanding of the concept of "human rights" -- I don't necessarily think we need to run right over there and teach them that concept at gunpoint, but be damned if I want ANY American money to support inhumane regimes. Those gov'ts who hate us, I don't really care what they think -- as long as they aren't sending terrorists over here to kill us, or otherwise waging war on us. If they're doing THAT, then yeah, we need to TEACH THEM why they should FEAR us, as long as they're gonna hate us. I pretty much subscribe to the old idea of speaking softly... and carrying a big damn stick, and being prepared to wield that stick as firmly as necessary, liberal bleedinghearts be damned.
