I got the Mage a couple of days ago, built a simple dual coils spaced SS316L build in it at .14 ohms and the flavor is outstanding.

It is sitting on my Triade DNA200 in SS TC mode at 450 degrees and 70 watts and the vape is cool to a little warm. I also tried it on my Hohm Tech G2 and it is performing like a champ on both.

For flavor this might be the best so far and clouds are real nice. Haven't really turned it up yet, mouth so close to the coils I don't want to singe my tongue. I am guessing my Boreas might be a better choice for cloud chucking but flavor wise I think this has it beat.

So far after a little more than 2 days I am really impressed. It is a very clean looking tank as well, it makes for a sexy combo with the Triade.

One con so far is the cap can be a little tough to get off to refill, not terrible but is tough to grip and turn. It also doesn't have juice flow control but after about 6 fill ups it hasn't been a problem, no leaks at all.

Wicking was real easy, I just followed what daniel did in his youtube review of the tank. No dry hits and no leaking at all after about 6 fill ups.

You can use a 510 drip tip on it if you want, I tried it but prefer not too.

If all the new tanks I have gotten in the last few weeks this might be my favorite. I still need more time with it though and the Aromamizer Supreme 4ml and Limitless Plus are both on there way.

Here is Daniel's review of it, handy so you can see how to wick it properly:

I have a Tornado heading my way. Haven't heard anything on the Mage, still, but in a review I watched, in the comments section, someone asked the guy his thoughts between the 2. The guy had a tough time choosing. I hear great things about both, really.

There are pro's and con's on both the Tornado Nano and Mage. Personally I like the look of the Mage better but the Tornado Nano does have more options and you can buy the pre-made chip coils if you don't want to rebuild. I don't have the nano and don't plan on ordering one so I can't compare but I do have a lot of other tanks and the Mage is the most flavorful for me. The only one that I think is a match flavor wise is my Wotofo Ice Cube RBA which is what I use to test my DIY juices.

The tornado seems decent but I don't know for the life of me why they used the disney font. Makes the tank look so tacky and very China-y ripoff.

My wife and i are both using Mages for an all day tank now, she stole my 1st one to claim as her own so i got another for myself. I've got some 24g SS316L coils in hers and fused claptons i wrapped up in mine. The flavor from this tank dwarfs all in my small collection of RTAs. Yeah the topcap can be a bit of a pain to unscrew but its a minor annoyance when compared to how nice this tank actually performs.

I'm loving the Mage besides the top cap and capacity. I'm running dual claptons at .4 with cotton bacon at 50w. Very very flavorful vape. I didn't have much luck with ss316. Decent flavor but bad vapor production with 6 wrap spaced 24g 2.5mm

I have a feeling this would be too much airflow for me. Gonna need to do more research on it. I won it in a contest, so nothing lost, maybe a huge gain for all I know, LOL.

Does anyone have Moonshot as well? I would like to know how does airflow compares on wide open or with equally built decks. Moonshot is one of my favorites, and Mage look very similar so more air would be improvement that I would be looking for. Thanks.

You won a Tornado? I bought one about a month ago. It took some getting use to, especially the wicking, but now I love it.

I own a Tornado Nano and the Mage RTA...hopefully getting a Griffin Mini also....These are some of the most intense flavor RTA's (much like the Alleria!) but the package is sooo small! It provides a good warm vape with adequate airflow...great building room and easy wicking.

I've been experimenting with the nano on the cricket (more work to do) but right now I'm getting the impression that even an ideal build is still a variation on tootie puffing which just kills my throat. If a variation where the base is the same diameter as the chimney and the chuff (rda in a tank) appears, then I will camp happily. (18mm straight up and out, tip to tail, inside a 24mm tank for example)

However, a dozen black mages paired with a dozen black ijust s, and there you'd have the johnny appleseed of vaping unless the ijusts won't go over 3.7v. Maybe the new wisemacs then . . . priced about the same. The black mage looks stunning but the chimney is smaller than the nano. Seems like these devices are still 'not quite right', i.e. high power still functions fundamentally as a tootie puff (too much sucking to get the cloud, and you can't 'sip' on it 'cuz it'll burn ya'). All of this is imho but this is what I've noticed . . .

I started to hold out for the Nano, but I'm glad I didn't. After I got use to building on the Tornado deck and a couple of wicking issues, it's simple and tasty. I love this thing, it has replaced my Crowns as my all day take to work vape. The only con is it didn't come with spare glass.

Okay, 2 days on the Mage...really enjoying it! Great flavor, easy build...although if you go old-school and just put in single strand coils (26ga) it is probably going to cut your leads. There is a slight digit on the solid side of the poles that can create a cutting edge when tightening single coils too tight. Solution...24ga or go to claptons or more exotic wire configurations. (Just ask Raymo2u!).

Flavor is great. Vape is warm and can get "hot" at high wattage even with airflow wide open. There is a limit to the airflow.

Biggest cons on this...damn top cap can be a pain to get off! Should have had some edge to get a hold of. As it is, it's just the sloped curve and nothing to grip on. Top needs to be really snug in order to keep sealed and avoid leaking.

Why not go 25mm instead of 24? Any added juice volume would be helpful for this since I dread taking the top off to fill.

Love the low profile on this.

Be patient in getting the wicking down right...once you got it figured out it is simple to do.

Good little tank with great flavor and decent dense vapor.

Still think the Boreas is all around better flavor and vapor.

When you go to unscrew the cap I find it easier to tighten and then unscrew....it seems to help alot with getting it off quickly!
The only real issue I had with it was the first time I wicked it when I went to put the barrel on...I didnt see that you had to put it on a certain way and I just though I was cross threading it for almost a half hour straight! When I finally saw the groove things then it went without a hitch.

If you have ever wicked a Goblin Mini or Diablo RTA then this wont be any different and is actually easier IMO.

Its more dense and intense for sure...for the 22mm normal Griffin anyway, the Mini Griffin Im not sure but would think its comparable.

    I'll give that a try!

LOL on they barrel thing! Luckily I watched a couple of vids and got the hint to line the grooves up with the deck.

Also, make sure the chamber/barrel is screwed all the way down nice and snug or you will get leaks. Had that happen the first time.
I really do like the little thing a lot!

LOL......I did the exact same thing, I was cursing it and thinking I had to already send it back.....that's when I decided to look at the manual and read about the notches lining up. I even tried screwing counterclockwise as I thought maybe it was a reverse thread, boy that was frustrating at first.

Mage is cheap. Great vape but top cap not the easiest to get on and off. Stripped after two weeks. Hate that too cause it really has great flavor. Guess top cap got warm and derilin threads wore down. I mean 2 weeks if that long, but I chain vape and go through tons of juice. Is there another rta similar? I liked the way juice got to coils. Reminded me of a Kanger sub tank mini rta except 10x bigger. My favorite tank broke........ Whine.
Maybe plumbers tape? Think it would melt?

That sucks @Debbiej , sorry to hear that. Not sure what the fix would be, maybe try and email coil art and see if they will send you a new top cap?

Off the top of my head the only thing that comes to mind is the Sigelei Moonshot but I have heard good and bad things about that tank, the reason I stayed away. It is on sale though here: http://www.ecigavenue.com/products/sigelei-moonshot-rta 30% OFF EVERYTHING with coupon: CRAZYDEAL
    Expires August 7, 2016

The Tornado Nano is another to consider: http://www.ecig.com/ijoy-nano-tornado-tank.html Use coupon code: Josh to take 10% off.

I am sure others can come up with more to recommend, I have not tried either tank above though, just relaying what I have heard.

Thanks Mjag, I didn't get a hold of coil art but vape happy is sending a replacement cap. See how long it last right? I saw and bought a Tornado for $14.00 at CSVapes. I thought it was a pretty good deal. They usually are around 30. Looks like the same design with juice flow and all. Moonshot has had so many bad reviews or I would try it.

Nice, I bought my Mage from Vape Happy as well so killer to hear they have great CS. I was thinking about getting the black Mage from them as well but decided to pick up a variety of other tanks instead, still thinking about it though.

Let me know how you like the Tornado compared to the Mage, is it the Nano you got?

Heck no, I accidentally got the regular tornado. I'll never shop at 3am again. Lol. The nano looks cool. I thought I was ordering that. BTW, vape happy got top cap to me in 2 days. Las Vegas to Virginia. Fast.
As for the old stripped cap, I used plumbers tape and it secured the cap to make vaccum. Still enjoying the Mage, love the flavor.
I'm beginning to need some sort of set up for all these atomizers. I like ordering the new ones! It's really became a hobby. Vape happy talked me into ordering new Gennie style Azeroth. Said the flavor production was better than the Mage.

Ordered another Mage today. Went with the black this time. I really like this little thing. I would caution about the top cap...it is easy to cross thread, so be gentle with it. Also as someone else posted...if it is hard to loosen, just a slight turn "tighter" breaks the seal, then it will remove fairly easy. There is no need to really crank the top down too tight at all. Just snug. The o-ring inside seals it very well and creates a nice vacuum without over tightening.

I am running two 3mm Claptons in mine (0.42 ohms) and getting really nice flavor and a great warm vape at 43 watts.

I also ordered a Tornado Nano off eBay today for $20. Some good deals there on the Tornado nano. looking forward to comparing it to the Mage.`

So I have used the Moonshot and the Mage. The Mage is far easier to build on. The Moonshot is a pita to build on. But size and flavor are the same. My issue with both is I drain the bloody tank every five minutes. They both vape fantastic and look fantastic. I have yet to try the Tornado Nano. I will get that next to test. Honestly the only tank I actually use now on a daily basis is my Limitless Plus. I have two.

Haven't tried the limitless plus. RDTA? right? I actually hate messing with those...not sure why. Have the Avocado and whatever that other one JayBo did...honestly just don't like them for some reason. Maybe the Limitless is better?

so i received a mage yesterday direct from coilart as a contest item.
    here are my thoughts
    i have owned or used
    griffin 22
    tsunami 24
    petri v2 clone
    crius original
    merlin

    lets start with flavor
the flavor is great. its as good as my griifin maybe just maybe slightly better

i tried to compare the mage side by side iwth my griffin 22 since i use 3 ofthem all day

unfortunately i couldnt quite do an exact side by side
    why?
well IMHO the build deck on the griffin 22 is actually bigger than the mage

in my griifins i am running 28/30 SS claptons 4mm id 8 wraps
i tried putting the same coils on the mage and they were just too big and always touched the collar and shorted
or while trying to dry fire them they would hit the deck and short out and break
actually took me 8 tries to get 1 coil in the mage
and that wasnt until i went to 7 wrap 3.5mm id 28/30 SS claptons

so the coils are similar but the griffin has more surface area in its coils
so when i say the flavor is about the same - if i could actually fit the same 4.0 mm ID coils in both I would suspect the mage would have an edge on flavor, but since you can fit a larger coil in the griffin the flavor is equal to me

Now this is just me.....I am not he best coil builder... someone much more expereinced might be able to get the 4mm id coils in a mage, but i really don't think they will fit on this deck.

so a mage does give great flavor.

    lets move on

the top cap/drip tip is a worry for me
its all plastic/delrin whatever. it is actually threaded onto the chimney
so what happens if the chimney gets hot enoujgh to melt the cap???
Now I normally dont chain vape enough or at high enough watts to worry too much about this, but if you vape hot I would be worried.
I feel this was just a bad design idea
Also its so smooth and the shape makes it a PITA sometimes to trun it to refill.
Its also very short HOWEVER A 510 drip tip fits inside it perfectly if you want something longer

the collar for the deck is the biggest PITA i have ever seen. I get that it has to start threading to the deck a certain way for the juice ports to line up. but DAMN even with no wicks in its tricky

The video I watched on how to wick shows to thread your wicks through the collar first then screw it on to the deck. Well that makes it tricky to see those slots on it to line it up. Im sure eventually I may get the feel for it so its not an issue but for now its a PITA

    LEAKING
    well first tank no leaks
second tank it leaked immediately from the AFC which is odd, so i opened it up and retucked the cotton and the leaks seem fine now.
left it on it side several times and no leaks Im now on my 4th tank

    JFC
    there is none
its wide open so if you are a perosn who has to close down the JFC on your stuff then your out of luck with the MAGE. for me I care less. I actually like that becuase thats one less press fitted part or place for something to break or wear down or leak. So for some this may be a con for others its a plus and for others its a "who cares"

    AFC
well if you close it all the way its a tight draw. Plenty of air flow wide open. but the ring is so smooth and so flush with the glass, its a PITA for me to grab hold of and turn. I have actually wound up putting my finger nail in the AFC opening to turn it.

    Overall conclusion

I wouldnt buy one for now. But its probably going to be in my daily rotation for the simple fact i needed a 4th tank for my 4th mod.
flavor is as good or better then everything I have or have used.
I do have my gripes with this tank especially the drip tip and collar. But since I only rebuild my coils like every 2 months and rewick every week or 2 I can live with it for a free RTA. The AFC wont be an issue for me since I just leave it wide open and I am happy. Refilllig may be a pain, but something I can potentially live with However if this threading gets messed up which I suspect it could, Im gonna be pissed.

I would not recommend this for someone's first RTA. You need to have a hang of wrapping and installing coils to get the largest possible coil in the deck. Griffins are much much easier and more forgiving then the mage.
As many have said wicking is damn right easy and nearly idiot proof, but getting the collar threaded to the base which is needed to wick it and assemble it is a PITA. So when you combine those two things, while the griffin is not idiot proof for wicking, I find it easier to wick the griffins overall.

I do prefer not having a JFC that moves like the mage versus the griffins. that is where i have my biggest gripe on my griffins. the JFC turns so freely on 2 of them now that I always have to double check its position before vaping. On the mage that is not ever going to be an issue.

SO I can see how more experienced RTA users might actuallly love this RTA. Its not bad in anyway, just could be better in a few small areas to make it worth buying for me. if they ever come out with a V2 that addresses the top cap and makes the collar easier to line up, I would most likely buy one.

Now this is only my opinion after 12 hours or so of use. I may find that the top cap never becomes an issue and that after 2 or 3 rewicks getting that collar on is easy as pie. I hope so. Becuase otherwise this is a damn fine RTA, just not one I would ever recommend as your first one, maybe your second or third one becuase of the deck size and how close the post holes are to the deck and getting the collar on right.

On my chamber collar the Coil Art logo lines up perfectly with the notches so I just use the logo as my guide...I can see the raised air channels it is supposed to snap onto so it is pretty easy after a time or two to get it lined up no problem. It did take a couple of tries to get the hang of it, but now it is easy peasy.

Just got the black version in today...it is a beautiful finish on this thing!

its a good tank. just a couple thinsg could have been done differently to make it a better tank and one that could actually replace my griffins

You should've gotten one. I'd contact the seller, or CoilArt if a contest win.
