On my box mod when I choose the mode (watt, temp, memory) I get those options above. Haven't noticed any differences? What do these options actually do?

    What kind of box mod?
The sx 350j board has something that sounds similar
    Soft-gradually builds to your setting
    Standard-your wattage setting only
Powerful-5% more than your setting for 1secomd then your setting
Powerful+-5% more than your setting for 2seconds then your setting

Also has eco which js standard and turns off some background operations to conserve battery life

I believe this is more of the future of devices, although it would be nice to let ou select power for those who want to custom tune their vape.

Smok Alien 220w lets you adjust ohms a little bit but I just install the dripper, let it take its guess, uninstall and repeat til I get a nice average lol I'm a dummy when it comes to science lol

You're just wearing out the 510 threads lol. It adjusts the voltage to match the resistance it reads each time you screw it back on.
