So, after a failed attempt with a SMPL that I could just never bond with and swearing off mechs as "not being worth the trouble" I am now the owner of two more. I have a Nemesis clone that is sitting in my mailbox at home and, because I am terribly impatient, a Lancelot clone I picked up in Columbus OH 2 days ago. After some cleaning/polishing/assorted TLC I'm really happy with it except for the gap between the mod and the attys.
When I first tried it at the store I brought my Doge which sat perfectly flush. When I got it home though I noticed that both my Subtank Mini and my Mutation had a gap. I thought it was my pin, so I disassembled it and learned to adjust it (being a clone its not as easy to access as an authentic). But it doesn't make a difference. Even with the Pin and the entire delrin assembly removed, there is still a gap.
Its not hugely noticeable and , if it can't be fixed I'd still be OK because I like the rest of the mod, but I can't for the life of me figure out why the attys are bottoming out, especially since there are still visible "unused" threads in the mod's 510 threads that the atomizer is stopping before. If anyone has an idea how to fix this, or at least an explanation of why its happening, I'd be grateful
