Hey guys. Chris here. Started vaping a couple years ago but never really got into it til now. Quit smoking after 8 years. Today was my first full day without a cigarette. I was active army 2009-2013. Deployed to Iraq. Just wanted to say hi to all my vets out there.
I do have a question about one of my old mods though. I have the evic mini with tron. Every battery I put in it after its not even half dead it tells me "weak battery". Any idea to why or a solution?

    Welcome to VU.
What batteries are you using and what wattage are you running?
    what coil resistance as well.

Sony vtc5? Also tried LG 3000 mag 3.7v, Samsung 3000 mag 3.7v and a pink battery no idea the name. Running 75 watts, 3.46 volts on the big baby beast .15 ohm coil.

Ahh it is just the nature of the mod at that wattage.
They will only put out max wattage for maybe the 1st 1/3 of the battery discharge cycle.
This is the way of most mods even the 2 and 3 battery ones when running at or near their maximum wattage.. You need more wattage headroom.

solution is to get a dual battery higher wattage mod.

Which is a 2 battery mod.
But you would have the same issue if using it at 200 watts.

That makes sense. Appreciate you letting me know. It does happen sometimes at around 50-60 watts with the same amount of battery. Guess I'm just pushing it too hard. On another not do you know of a dual battery that would be good to carry around? Something smaller than my big heavy t-priv?

Not really. I am a lower wattage vaper primarily.
I will let someone else recommend.
I do not recommend Smok products though as a general rule.

See I wanted to steer clear of smok too. But every shop close to me sells tons of smok products so if I need something now... Its like a 5 min drive. Figured it would be convenient. Pretty cheap too. I'm new so I dont know a whole lot about vaping. Trying to learn as it really interests me. Lower wattage means you vape at higher ohms?

I have heard fairly good things about the Asmodus mods.
    Minikin maybe?

yeah Smok seems to have a good markup and the young seems to want them for some reason....

Yes and no.. say you have a .50 ohm coil in I would vape that around 35 to 40 watts but honestly if i put in a .25 ohm coil vape it at 60 to 70 and it gives me the same vape as the .50 ohms.. I use regulated mods. But if it's mech then that's a different story and I don't have any mech mods... then you get into size and style of coil if you using rebuildables. Best thing To do is just look around the forum. Everything you need is here from reviews to teaching to build your own mod and coils to just somewhere to bs with people.
