Next Round of Tariffs Could Making Vaping More Expensive

"If the cost of vaping far outweighs the cost of smoking, many will be forced to go back to smoking due to financial concerns," she said.
Yeah, but there's zero chance that tariffs will do that. They might make a $40 Chinese mod cost $60, but this would have an almost negligible effect on the overall cost of vaping. The ongoing cost is the consumables, primarily the e-liquid, which is almost all made here in the USA.

Now the companies like Juul who sell pre-filled pods (at already outrageous prices) might suffer. Heck, they might even decide they have to move their pod manufacturing to the US. What a shame that would be. (FWIW, Juul's liquid is already made here and is currently shipped to China, where its dispensed into their pods.)

25% on chinese vape gear adds up. 25% of 3.6 billion estimated sales in USA in 2018.

Good to see you do not mind paying more taxes.

Ask me how much I've spent on Chinese vape gear in the last 5 years.

Probably around $100.

Is it all about you?

Virtually all of my vape stuff is Chinese.
And happy to have it.

More are like me than you.

Why are you posting in this thread if you do not even buy Chinese vape gear?
Political whackery?

So if you have it, it's kept you off smokes for years now, how does this affect you?

Could it be that Chinese gear is junk that needs to be replaced regularly and often?

It raises the bar for entry, which is always the biggest hurdle. And if it raises the price of pod systems, they might exceed the price of smoking (esp in southern states that have low taxes on them).

Yep Marlboros are still ONLY around $50 here for a carton.
People can and some do spend more on vaping than smoking.
