Okay, so I am just curious. My aspire cleito 120 holds 4 ml of juice. I go through about 3-4 tanks a day of 3 mg nic. Does this mean that I am taking in 48 mg of nic a day?!?! I'm going through about 12-16 ml of nic a day. I don't plan on going to higher nic either. Just curious how my heart isn't exploding if i'm going through that much nic Haha

It means you're *using* that much, but absorbing? *Maybe* half that. Absorption of vaporized nicotine in the mouth and throat and nasal mucosa is MUCH less efficient than absorption of the microscopic particles from smoke, deep in the lungs. That's why it's impossible to draw a straight correlation between vaping and smoking cigarettes -- it depends on a lot of factors -- how you vape (inhale), your equipment, the power level you use, and possibly other factors as well.

Some folks need 18mg or more, to be able to switch. Some of us did it at 6mg using a cigalike. It's all very individual.

Not exactly sure how much but I think a smoke is about 1.8mg of nic and the average drags from one smoke is around 20 give or take which, after the math, would be about 36mg of nic a day? Idk, I use to vape 8ml's of 12mg before I am still here so.....

The math on this kind of stuff is just not clear enough to give you an accurate answer.

Me, I started at 36 mg of nic 5 years ago.

Now I am at 6mg and my doc sez I my heart is as healthy as a horse!

Only reason I stopped vaping that high was because Its pretty harsh on the throat at sub ohm. Now I am at 4mg

I could be wrong, but I've read many papers that stated in a cigarette approximately 1 drop of pure nicotine could be extracted and that 1 drop was enough to boil blood as well as stop your heart, at almost 100mg of nic in that 1 drop. Add in combustion of the tobacco roughly you burn away 52 to 48% of that nicotine, so roughly smoking a full cigarette you get about 48 to 52mg nic from that cigarette, full PAD of smokes, 20X48=960mg of nic a day being exposed to in a single day as an example. Cig nicotine is also, cut down in the manufacturing process, from 15 nano-meters to about 7 to 8 nano-meters so it hits the brain and is absorbed more quickly and easier, the nic we are exposed to is its natural size of 15nm, thus is harder to absorb, myself in my Kayfuns I run 12mg and use about 4 mL a day that way, 4X12=48mg daily exposure, in my sub-tanks I run 6mg at higher wattages than my Kayfuns, averaging about 8 to 9 mL used a day, 8X6=again about 48mg exposure a day, I started out at 48mg on cig-a-likes like NJoys and later moved to a 510 cig-a-like kit, each carto was about 1 mL, and I'd have to burn through or refill those cartos at about 10 reloads a day, 10mL X 48mg=480mg nic exposure a day.

As you stated all in the math, but just myself since I started 5yrs ago, down to 10% what I first started at, which is a big win in my book.

Yeah but you only absorb about one mg of nic per cigarette even though there can be up to 20 mg per stinky. So roughly , that equals out to about 48 cigarettes smoked daily if you think about the mg of nic

Thats why I take many precautions when I get my 100mg bottle out to diy. Someone on here, cant remember who, said they accidentally vaped some 100mg and ended up shaking on the kitchen floor with messed up vision.

Exactly what I said. No way to draw any kind of accurate correlation between how much/how strong you smoked, and how you vape -- there IS no direct correlation, because the means and rates of absorption are so *vastly* different. There's also a difference in absorption because of the lack of all the other chemicals which are found in cigarette smoke, many of which help the absorption via cigarette smoke, and speed it up.

The level of nicotine in ejuice is dictated by the amount that is present in the ejuice itself. While cigarettes are usually available in strong, medium, and light strengths, eliquid is available in more exact nicotine levels ranging from 0mg up to 24mg or higher depending upon the manufacturer.

The level of nicotine is also dependant upon the device that is used. Sub-Ohm tanks used on higher wattage mods will increase the nicotine level received into the body over that of less powerful pen style vaping devices.

Well, Ryan57348, your heart does not "explode" because high blood pressure caused by nicotine use is an ANTZ lie. The fact is as Professor Newhouse writes, "Nicotine treatment was associated with a modest reduction in systolic blood pressure."

    See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3466669/

If nicotine did cause high blood pressure or was actually "highly addictive" then Dr. Newhouse's research on humans would not have been ethical. His research was ethical and the ANTZs know this so they must also be aware they are lying to us about a whole lot of things. It is time for all the publicly funded lying to stop.

True, but also keep in mind, the more vapor inhaled the lower mg/ml ejuice you use. What is fine in a M2L vape pen (say 24mg) would be to harsh to vape in an RDA with much larger clouds. For me, now, even 6mg in an RDA would quickly make me nic sick, but the same 6mg in my tank would be fine.

You can't really compare nicotine per ml to nicotine per cigarette, the delivery is to different, so we estimate how many ml to keep a smoker happy based on his habit of how many packs per day. To compare, we need to actually measure the nicotine level in the blood.

The 'strength' of a cigarette is a marketing ploy. Determined by the holes the manufacturer puts in the filter. Covering the holes with your lips negates them.

I think the biggest problem is, anti smoking groups have been targeting the nicotine as being the demon hidden in tobacco. The real harm in tobacco is NOT the nicotine, it is the additives to enhance the dependency forming properties of the nicotine. More importantly, if it weren't for all the toxins and cancer causing agents, nicotine would not even be an issue. Caffeine is more harmful actually.. but you don't see any signs.. NO COFFEE UNDER 18.. right? LOL Hell, some students LIVE on the stuff. My heart doesn't even beat in the morning without my coffee.

Did you notice, the longer you vaped, the harsher it became at the higher levels, and dropping to 3-4 mg was not harsh but enough to stop the mental cravings? LOL I'm pretty sure I have gone a few days on 0mg juice without knowing it, I forgot which of my DIY had nicotine and which I had made for clouds. ( I marked it on the bottle with a marker, but it was not permanent enough.. lol)
