    Hi All,

I am from India and been smoking a pack a day (stinkies) since last 15 years.. really desperate to quit. I brought an Endura Innokin T18 kit about couple of months back; however, still not able to get rid of cigs. I still smoke around 6-8 cigs along with vaping. So now I smoke as well as vape!
Got a starter e juice pack from the vendor (online) along with the kit. Couple of fruit, tobacco flavors - 10/15 ml, 70VG, 3 MG Nic pack. The issue is I keep going back to cigs. Guess the T18 or the e juices does not hit the spot.
As mentioned earlier, I am a newbie and not looking at DIY kits.
Can someone suggest me a setup (Mods, tanks, coils, e juices - something fruity etc) that might help me. I have been on the multiple forums trying to understand which would suit me, but all it got is getting me more confused.
Also, the government here in India is trying to ban Vape all together and the place i am in does not have a retail store where I can go and try the stuff before buying.

    Thanks in Advance.

    SR

    Welcome aboard....:vino:

You may want to up the nicotine considerably. I been vaping for about five years, still use 6mg-12mg

When I first quit, I was vaping 18mg and 24mg for a few months....it did the trick, the first day I began vaping I tossed the smokes.

If your trying to quit, I'd just buy a cheap Pod system with high nicotine salt ejuice (I use 46mg nic)....I have a couple I use often, like the Aspire Breeze 2....it's cheap, the coils seem to last forever....and the juice lasts a LONG time. The damn little Pod has a 1000 mah battery too, last all day using high nic ejuice.

    Welcome to the Underground, proteus1982!

First, before I recommend anything, I want to make clear that we are a vape juice manufacturer, so there will be some inherent bias here.

My first suggestion is to check out our Beginner's Guide to Vaping on our website. It's full of helpful info ranging from vape juice to hardware, that should help you make a decision on nicotine strength and the type of device you'd like to use.

Second, I would advise looking at how you're vaping, rather than how much you're still vaping and smoking. In other words, think about the actual process of quitting smoking with vaping. My best piece of advice is to actually use your vape as a replacement therapy. So, rather than vape all day to try and quit smoking, set your vape down during the day. Throughout the day, then, when you're craving a cigarette, pick up the vape and have a few drags. That's the most important part: Use your vape only when you would normally have a cigarette. Doing this will accomplish two things: 1. You'll be vaping exclusively to curb your nicotine cravings and 2. You'll be training your brain to crave only the nicotine, rather than all of the additional chemicals that are in a cigarette. It may take a few days, weeks, or months, but you'll start to notice that rather than crave a cigarette after a meal, you're craving a vape. This will help you to save money as well as get over the cigarette habit at the same time. Over time, once you've quit smoking, you can choose to vape more or venture into different devices, but if you're trying to quit smoking, use your vape as a replacement for cigarettes, rather than a new habit.

If you have any more questions, we're all here to help. Don't hesitate to reach out! Keep working, and you'll be finished with those stinkies before you know it! VAPE ON!

Welcome @proteus1982 and I hope you enjoy your stay~!

The best advice I can give is to make the decision to quit and get up in the AM saying yesterday was the last time I smoked and stick with it. 7-8 hours without a smoke as a start. That is the only way I could do it and I did it with Cig-A-Likes and 24-36MG refilling the cartridges. You can do it if you say no more. Good Luck~!

I'll be a third to vote to increase your nicotine level. Been vaping almost three years here and still use 18mg per 1ml nicotine. I also use an RDA and build my own coil set ups for a single battery mech mod.

I do not advise anyone to use a mech mod or try using RDA starting out. You need to learn more about vaping before going that route, there is an element of caution needed and understanding what you do. But yes, increase your nicotine level. I think @inspects probably suggested a good bit of gear to get started using.

Stay safe in the legal issues for your location. Check out some of the vendor links listed on here. If you happen to see @Countrypami, she has links to reputable vendors worth checking out, look in her signature line to find those.

Yup....up the nic. I definitely agree with that! I think that’s your main problem, at this point. Definitely keep it simple for yourself. A lot of people give up in frustration because of maintenance, overwhelming choices, etc....You don’t need to get into diy anything yet. Use an easy kit or pod system.

And it sucks India wants to do away with vaping! Argh!

I bet we all went through some of what you're going through. In MY experience, I was lucky to start with a higher nic e-juice @ 24mg and it worked for me from day two. On my way home from work I instinctively lit a cigarette, took a drag and hated the taste compared to my vape. The two most important parts for MY success was comparable nic levels to my cigarettes and a flavor I liked all day long. I doubt it's the device causing the issue ... but that's just one man's opinion. Good luck and never be afraid to ask. GREAT people on here willing to help. If they outlaw the juice, I'll mix it and send it to you. I'd much rather you a happy healthy Indian Outlaw than a sick citizen of our fine world. ~John in Texas, USA

Welcome and another vote for upping the nic. 24-18mg with your current setup.

I would also bet you could find folks willing to get you gear and ship to you for cost, or only a minor bit above cost in order to cover shipping. Folks here at VU aren't too concerned over being outlaws. *chuckles* A very wise person once stated that if the laws are unjust it is our duty to disobey them.

So, yes I do think you'll be able to keep vaping. Somebody here on the board can keep you stocked. :)

    Thanks guys..
    Really appreciate the advice :).

So my wife (who knew about my struggles with quitting stinkies) gifted me a Vaporesso Revenger X kit around 3 weeks ago. Guess she asked her brother (who is a vaper - is 'vaper' the term for ppl who vape?? ) and I am down to couple of cigs a day for a week now. And hopefully will completely quit ASAP.
I know the Revenger is kinda overkill - different modes, airflow adjustments, voltage etc etc and it was very scary to use in the beginning; but got a hang of it. I upped the nic to 6mg and so far so good. And man the flavors and cloud (and the throat hit) i get.. Never got that from the T18, but then again the only issue is how fast the stock coil gets burned through.
I am already at my 2nd coil - first one lasted around 2 weeks (Usually vape at Normal Mode, 35-45 V, 60/40 VG/PG) and it is difficult and expensive to get quick replacements.

Is it normal to run through a coil within 2 weeks? or is it the issue with GT Core coils. Also, I am looking for some juices with methol/ice flavors - any recommendations.

Thanks again for all your advice :)

    Cheers
    SM

Congrats on your progress! Actually 2w coil life is decent these days. Might consider switching to an rta in the future; cheaper and pretty simple upkeep. Building scared me and looking back I have to laugh at myself for waiting to try. Easier than it sounds or looks. Just a thought for the future.

You have a good resource to talk to with your brother in law!
For a pre made coil head to last for two weeks is really excellent. The life of a coil head also depends on your eJuice. Usually, darker, and sweet juices, will gunk up a coil quick. IMHO, I'd look into RTAs or RDAs. Building your own coils will safe you tons of money. Just as making your own eJuice (see the sub forum here on VU for some good recipes and advice).

    Hey Guys,
So its been a month since I have been vaping..and there is good & bad news..
The Good news first..there are days I dont even smoke (cigs) and even if I do its just an occasional drag from my buddies..however; that was till last week.. I have been having severe bouts of Sinus issues and due to that inflammed tonsils at regular intervals..
Been through two courses of anti-biotics and other meds..they work..for some time..and the issue come backs again..Last week was pretty severe..went to a specialist and she suggested me to get off vaping for a while and see how things go.

I am off vaping for more than a week now and the issues seems to be going away.. And now the bad news.. I am back smoking cigs..7-8 per day..

Anyone else had these issues? I am guessing it could be the e-juice (allergy) and the spitback i have been getting when i vape (How do i stop that).
Don't want to go back to smoking again..
As mentioned earlier..I have a Revenger X kit with GT Core coils .. I vape at Normal Mode, 35-45 V, 70/30 VG/PG (right now i have couple of e-juices from Beard)..

I actually love the flavor (Beard Green 3 - Ripe Melon with Custard) and really helped me in sticking onto vaping..

Looking for suggestions with other brands/flavors similar to the one that i have right now. Also tips on how do i prevent the spitback while vaping.

    Thanks in Advance..

The only way to nail it down is vape straight vg, if no issues arise vape straight pg. If still no problems vape unflavored juice. If no problems vape 0nic juice. It's just a matter of elimination. Did you sterilize you tanks at all after you started getting better?

Well, to help set aside any worries. Agree too, you need to boil out your gear. Then, swap the more pg or more vg until figuring out which might be irritating you. Seen folks get bad effects from pg, others from vg.

I use max vg but simply for effect & well honestly I like the subtle sweetness of it over the sterile taste of pg. These tastes I just described, are strictly my own opinion & experience. I can smell Epsom salts despite my wife saying they have no odor.

Damn it, I heard Raymond Burr downstairs telling Jack Webb it's time for coffee. I need to go, ...

Giving an idea regarding DIY coils over already factory/manufacture made coils. If I could stop "trying out a new build". I could get a coil to last me two, three months or more. All a matter of using a little care, cleaning, tweak the coil now and then to help hold shape. Know I've had one last at least two months for sure, know I could do longer. I just get antsy and well, ...
