I keep reading about how notch coils are the "next big thing." Has anyone tried them yet? I know a couple of rda/rtas come with them now. I've been contemplating getting a few just to try out and see how they are.

They've been around for a while now like. Saw a video at least 2 years ago by rip trippers saying they were brilliant....take everything he says with a pinch of salt though so haven't tried them myself yet haha. Have considered them but I'm still on a building journey so probably won't even give them another look either

Tried some last year when i got my regulated mod...melo 2...
    MEH....

But my vaping style cou l d have more to do with my not liking....... only 2 coils so far I have liked in that tank 1 diy and the other 1.8ohm from FT. I ordered 1 of each sold on FT when I got the tank. Including notch heads and plain coils...... my main issue with the notch coils is the are all too big an id......

I own 2 OBS Engine Subs, the coil that was released with the Sub is a .2 Notch SS, it is my favorite coil out of the 40 or so tanks I own. Much flavor and good clouds, it's very smooth but it takes a lot of power, it's well worth it! The Notch, I get 2-2/12 weeks out of it.

Gonna need something with a lot of room it seems. 5.5mm girth. I have my reservations. They seem like they'd vape but one the things I like about claptons etc is they actually hold juice themselves. Also outside of things made for them or large build decks, that's a lot of cotton that will be needed to stuff those things.

Notch Coils are great for rebuilding stock animizers like Atlantis, Melo, Cleito style animizers. You just have to make sure you buy the ones with wires on opposite sides and ends. Air up the middle and wrap wick around outside. Notch coils are not very good in RTA's I have found. Bad thing is they are expensive compared to just building coils from a roll of wire. They fire up super hot when they are not wicked. I vaped them for 6 months and went back to wire because I only vape single coil RTA's now. Still have a bunch of notch coils in my coil boxes and a bunch of animizers build with notch coils in them. CHEERS!

they are,,, just ok. tobecco is the only one i know of who is still actively mfg notch coils for the super tank series, which fit a tony of other tanks that take original atlantis coils. the tobeco super tank notch coils are ok. no big wow's no bad flavor, they are just a different type of coil.
i have some of the 3mm and 5mm raw notch coils and rarely use them. they are too low ohm for normal use and can only handle 30-40 watts. they fire very very quick and any higher wattage will burn the shit out of the cotton. but it doesnt mean the low wattage is bad, it just means that they are low wattage driven to equal higher wattage coils.

Seems like most people that have tried then either love them or hate them. I think we'd all love a @KingPin! Review of them

Notch coils have been out long enough that their fans have come and gone for the most part.
Some like em but some like cartomizers too.

I got a few sometime this spring. I tried a couple and ended up taking them out for whatever reason. I guess I didn't like them lol. I still have some left and should try to use them up. They are Wismec.25 SS. Apparently they were made for something called Theorem. Theres a sticker on the box that says that.
