I believe it was based on a trip to Alabama....but I could be wrong, never seen that many inbreds in Oregon, although I didn't look for um.....:teehee:
There are none of those people in Orygun, but since when has a movie's premise and where it was actually filmed had any basis in fact?

Good here Rich, how about you?
SSDD. Just in case you didn't peek at the weather crap today, this morning's forecast told me it was sunny here with zero chance of any form of precipitation. I didn't agree with that, so checked the Doppler and it showed there was nothing going on over us. I guess their RADAR was broken because in the real world, it was overcast and snowing here until noon. High temp today was only 24 and it is currently (10 PM) 15 degrees.

Unreal. Like I mentioned yesterday, I haven't been following the news lately. My brother who lives in NY said they got snow up the ass, which is really odd for this time of the year.....like many other locations with cold and snow this early.

It was decent here today tho.

I was just reading an article in Scientific American where they are still claiming global warming is real, but they can't prove it because that evil president Trump has pulled their federal funding and they can't get enough good scientists working on their side. They also claim we will be having a much warmer winter this year. Just in case you might be wondering, yes, I have cancelled my subscription.

That probably translates to "Can't get any intelligent scientists to shill for us"

Those who want to promote this BS, whether for purposes of raising taxes or promoting false industries (e.g., electric vs gasoline cars, which is a whole other argument - and I can prove electric cars are more damaging) are paying scientists on the side (above and beyond what they get on their jobs) to stand up with these lies. And they have bought a huge portion of the publications industry to spread the lies as if they were truth, which those few of us left who have the science knowledge and logic and honesty can see right through them, which has made me cancel a dozen subscriptions in the past few years. Magazine articles are becoming as stupid as the lies in TV ads (whatever the product is, the ads are full of lies). Whatever happened to the concept of truth in this country?

It has recently been proven that the history books used in grade schools and high schools today contain an average of one lie every other page. And the quality of teachers is so bad that I wish everyone could home-school their children. And college? Downright scary because every professor is so far left they might as well be communists. Free speech? Only if it is theirs. Yours will be suppressed and condemned.

Yep, all the above sadly are true. Wish I would have planned a little better to get the fuck out of here permanently. I've had about all I can take the last couple years.

You remember that analogy about boiling the frog? If you turn up the heat slowly, the frog stays in the pot until he is dead; if you turn it up rapidly, he jumps out. The problem we have is that this shit has been going on ALL OUR LIVES -- yes, since before we were born, but at a very low heat setting. We just didn't know it until that stupid fuck turned up the heat real rapidly 10 years ago, with the help of half the congress critters, dark state, and numerous billionaires. Can we save it? Can we return to truth, justice and the American way? I would love to think so, but somehow I doubt I will still be alive by that time, if and when it happens. And, sadly, it might require a blood-bath open revolution, which I do not wish on this country, no matter which side you choose to fight for.

What really boils my blood is the assholes who are for communism, now that is really hard to believe. I have to assume they know NOTHING about socialism......Nada, Zip, Zilch....!

Everytime I read something about that dumb bitch from NY (which could be a few), it made my blood boil over the pot...!

Rich, have you had any luck finding firewood?

Need to change the conversation so my blood pressure stays within range.

Full agreement. I lived in England 3 1/2 years, watching how numb the citizens became to their overly socialist government. It was their young people (back in the late '60s) who railed against that way of life. Now it seems it is OUR young people who are in favor of that stupid shit. But, we both know they did not do this of their own accord; they have been brainwashed from birth.

No. :(

Yeah, I understand. This conversation will probably give us both nightmares tonight... and a desire to move to Mars.

Speaking of which, I think it is about time to hit the sack. How about you?

Any old pharts hanging around here yet tonight?
Yup, just arrived a few minutes ago.

How was your day?

As you probably know, it was beautiful here, mid-70's sunny.

Took another truck to the car wash this afternoon, then went to my mothers house for dinner.

The GF called from EC, said it hailed so hard kids were making snowmen.....said he has NEVER seen this in her life in EC anyway. That damn global cooling is even affecting S. America.

She said the hail was about 6 inches deep in Quito, which is north central EC. She was at her mothers house for the weekend at Quito. Hopefully it didn't hail like hell in the southern part of the country.

Gawd, if your place got hit that hard, it would wipe out your bananas, wouldn't it? Must have been one big mofo thunderstorm.

That's what we were thinking.....although most are bagged hanging from the trees at the moment.

I would think a storm big enough and strong enough to put down 6" of hail would probably rip through the baggies.

Prolly, would be my luck, but we don't know if it even rained down there. She'll find out tomorrow when the groundskeeper shows up for work (I assume). They have a very strange climate like Oregon, huge mountains with volcanoes topped with snow 365, to lowlands and a portion of the Amazon, which have significant swings in temperature.

If you color a map of the USA and fill in all 30 states that I have driven through, it would kind of make a large fat right angle - all but the SE corner. Recently, I have been seriously assessing where -- IF we could move -- would I most like to relocate. There are many things I like about many of those states, but also many things I did not like. Geographically, the place I like best is central Oregon, but ever since it got Californicated, it is socially and politically unacceptable to us. But all the things you have described about EC make it sound like some place worth checking out. Sadly, I doubt we would be able, financially, to make such a move, but it sure sounds nice. Maybe I just have to put it in my wish list that Orygun will revert to the way it was 30, 40, 50 years ago. Yeah, I know... dream on.

South of Flag isn't to bad...like the Prescott area. The land is still fairly inexpensive, compared to the rest of the state.

Friend of mine bought about 20 acres outside of Prescott, I forgot what he paid, but I was astonished at the low price. You still have the cowboys up there, politics aren't really a problem.

That's one of the reasons why I always liked Prescott, whereas Flagstaff -- well I'd rather not live with those people. Also, in Prescott, even as an old phart, I could do a few things with Ruger (I am still an NRA-certified pistol instructor/personal protection/range master).

Interesting. A friend of mine quite the inspection business to do exactly that....Firearm training, and he's doing really well.

I can PM you my buddies number in the morning if you like to talk to him about land in the Prescott area. I know he bought the property with the owner holding the note, and got a hell of a deal. He has two rental houses on the property, and is building a new home on the same property. I was supposed to drive up there and see his operation this past summer, but I was just swamped with work, couldn't make it.

I was up there three years ago inspecting a couple buildings for the city of Prescott....them folks are the good ole boys, gun toting no nonsense fuck the gov type, which I really like.

There is a drastic temperature difference between Phoenix and Prescott, as you know.....it's a damn nice place to live. I would live there if I could make a buck, but the work is hard to come by in my business, and it's too far to commute.

Wouldn't hurt for me to have that number on hand, but unless someone shows sincere interest in buying our place, we obviously can't move anywhere.

Interesting... maybe I could rent a house from him and pay for it on the gun range... :D

Given that we live entirely on my social security (being a Scrooge, I make it stretch), not being employed would not be a problem.

Haven't talked to Mark in a couple months....I'll give him a call tomorrow to find out what the skinny is on land available in the area.
And can I move our cows there? And a zillion other questions, but those are things I should talk to him about...

Of course, but what I really meant was, each state has different regulations. If the cow is more than two years old, it has to have some special blood test (bangs?) to be moved interstate, and medical health/safety tests, and... and... a zillion animals here we couldn't move at all, etc. My AQHA mare probably wouldn't survive the trip (she's way too old for this), etc. But all that crap is not anything to lay on you. I'd have to get a copy of AZ state regs.

Anyway, getting near time to crawl in bed, so we prolly should say "good night" somewhere in here.
(Hey, this is Sunday. How come no one else is in here with us? Did we scare them all away with the last couple days of anger?)

What's happening Rich?....was just ready to hit the hay....been popping spammers, slow evening.
I allowed myself to get way too busy writing to people and forgot to look on here. I guess I figured if anyone had anything important to say, it would slap me upside the head with an e-mail notification, and because I never got one, I just kept writing my letters.
