Well, the weather guessers were in fact wrong about that 50 mph...

May 9, Noonish: Overcast, high for the day was 44 ºF, wind was 40-45 mph with gusts to 60 mph. That makes the wind chill factor 30 ºF, so I was, once again, wearing my heavy winter coat. Now it is midnight, the sky has cleared and the wind fallen to a light breeze, but the thermometer now says 33 ºF and I guaran-god-damn-tee it will be well below freezing before the sun comes up. Sigh...

Is the Flagpole still in the vertical position?
No. What is left of it from a storm about six months ago is still in the shop. I can't afford a steel pole (hell, a new aluminum pole is over $100) so I am trying to figure a way to patch this one back together. I figure a mosaic of PVC pipe and long screws over the bent aluminum might work.

Yeah, that probably would work.

Just tossing this one out early because I am sure I will forget it if I wait until the regularly scheduled nightly BS session:

May 10th, around sunrise: Yes, it snowed here. Luckily the ground was warm enough that it didn't stay for more than a few minutes. Sigh...

And society praised it as "the right thing to do." Well, maybe the Damocraps did. I live in one of the states that stood up at the beginning and said, "Don't even think about pulling that crap here." Some people (socialists) still stayed in their homes (city folks only - us country types have outside work to do every day many times per day and we're damn well going to do it). Children had no choice because most schools closed down. Some restaurants chose to be take out only, but in general, life has proceeded as normal in South Dakota. And, we have the lowest infection rate in the country. Maybe the dipshits in other states ought to pay attention...

P.S. And if the assholes choose to try this shit again, how about sending the Liberty Bell here, because we will take up arms and put many holes in all those who try to destroy the American way of life. We stand by the U.S. Constitution, NOT the fucking U.N.'s communist demands that we conform.

Sorry if I missed you guys today. We had snow this morning followed by high wind and rain all day, including a power outage, which seems to have fucked my computer and I am pounding on it trying to get it to work. I don't know if this will post or not.....

Consumption of undeclared minoxidil would be expected to result in low blood pressure, rapid heartbeat, and salt and water retention causing swelling. Consequently, patients may be at risk for developing heart failure or other heart damage. Excess fluid between the heart and the sac surrounding the heart has also been reported in association with minoxidil use.

Take a drug for hair loss?...."but"... it may kill you? That makes sense.............

Didn't know what minoxidil was for, after reading other posts about it, I guess some people would gamble their life rather than lose some hair.....incredible.

Read the small print on all the drug ads and you'll find most of them have consequences far more serious (including death) than the problem they are meant to take care of. I get such a giggle out of the ones that people take -- for instance -- to stop their asthma problem and it may cause severe breathing problems. Huh? Why would you risk a severe breathing problem by taking a drug to fix your breathing problem? etc., etc. Yet obviously there are a lot of idiots out there taking these or they wouldn't waste their money advertising them...

I seldom watch any television, but the drug ads on TV now are just unbelievable. I haven't even heard of the diseases in my life, but apparently so many people have them, they put ads on the tube for people to "ask your doctor about"

Most of the diseases are not even real. The drug companies invented a new drug, but the rules say they cannot market any drug unless there is a specific disease that drug is intended to cure, so they pay some stupid-ass scientist to invent the disease (or make a claim that it exists), then with cleaver advertising and the buying of some doctors, they convince a bunch of idiots they have this non-existent disease and sell them a drug they don't need, but very likely, when they take that drug, they will need six more drugs to counteract it. This is how we make our yacht payments.... :)
